QUOTE(archery @ Oct 21 2011, 09:30 AM) hi guys, can sum1 explain to me what is diff between GT-I9100, GT-I9100G, GT-I9100T?? The original Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 is using Samsung own Exynos 4210 SoC CPU and ARM Mali-400 GPU. On the other hand, GT-I9100G uses Texas Instruments OMAP4430 CPU and PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Both of the CPU is running at 1.2 GHz based on dual core ARM Cortex-A9. Not sure the exact CPU performance difference. However, the PowerVR SGX540 (which was used in previous generation Galaxy S) is much slower than ARM Mali-400. And can’t enable Anti-Aliasing (4xAA and 16xAA) with Chainfire3D Pro.

How long does it take for it to repair if I send to Samsung Service Center? Sounds like you lost your EFS. Are you on stock rom or custom rom? If you have a backup of it you can just try and restore it. Otherwise like you said, to the service center. Not sure how long though.

Oh no.. The future of Exynos is doom: The G version seems more appealing now... QUOTE yellowdroid 2 hours ago This is what I was told. Samsung had to use the TI OMAP because it was the new reference platform.
The OMAP processor has DRM componentry built in.
Exynos is losing its edge. The core architecture of Exynos was developed by chip designer, Intrinsity. Apple poached them and Intrisinity is no-longer under contract to ful-fill future SOC architectural design for Samsung.
A key note. The OMAP is what allows the camera to be "virtually" lag-free by a few milleseconds.
The whole SOC is pretty much an entire package - audio, gfx, IC, bus and not a la carte. Think of it like a ATOM chipset or NVIDIA ION package.

QUOTE(alg @ Oct 21 2011, 07:34 AM) the only i get is my home screen being captured..i tried 'clear memory' in task manager, but it doesnt work,i can't transfer my apps to phone's usb storage.. you need to press the vol + first and then home and then power button. you can switch off your phone first and press the button until u saw the samsung galaxy s i9100 screen and release the button. that's how i done it did you root your phone? Actually if you google it, apple actually bought over intrinsity in 2010. Yet we have exynos now on SGS2 in 2011. I think samsung is still developing exynos just not with intrinsity.
