Just tried Firefox 11 beta for N9. It's fast, it's smooth and so powerful it brings a tear to my eyes to have this on my mobile.

I think apps will get better and better for Meego. I can see a lot of quality apps in the store now and new ones coming out every day. Apps for the latest services like Dropbox, Spotify and Sound Cloud are also available. Firefox and Opera mini are being fine tuned. Not bad for a platform which is only 2 months old and pronounced "dead" by reviewers. In comparison app development for Symbian is more or less moribund.
The caveat is that many commercial developers are shying away as Elop has pronounced the death sentence for Meego by declaring N9 as "The Last Meego Phone". Hence apps like Whatsapp, Oxford dictionaries and MS Office editors may not be coming. Alternatives like eBuddy and Calligra may be able to fill the gap in future. Google maps can be used with CloudGPS now. Video calls is in development by Peregrine.
Give another 6 months and I predict there will be many Meego apps which Symbian don't have and WP7 developers cannot do due to the closed OS. An example is the Call Recorder. There are many more quality apps which can be ported from Maemo5. Meego isn't going to play dead for Elop by any means.

QUOTE(nebousuke @ Dec 5 2011, 04:50 PM) fMobi has a bug where it will not register the word that is being "underlined" in auto correct mode. You have to press space bar and exit from the "underline" condition after that press send. Just drop a line to the developer regarding the bug rather than just suffer and workaround. You'll be surprised how effective it can be. This post has been edited by KennyKB: Dec 5 2011, 05:25 PM

QUOTE(nebousuke @ Dec 8 2011, 07:55 AM) My Phone prompts me for password too everytime i reboot, it happens to me since ytd, did all the usual tricks including setting restore, did not wipe out though. Seems that it happens to many people Do you use Microsoft for Exchange? I read somewhere the problem is due to MfE but can't remember which forum. I don't use MfE and haven't encountered any password prompt problem.

A lot of N9 apps are free because they are produced by the Meego community to support the platform. There are only a few commercial developers as Elop has scared them off with no more Meego phone. Let's not scare away these few commercial developers or we'll end up with nothing. An app I want to recommend is Remote Multi Drive which is a commercial app for RM6.00. There is also a Lite version for trying. With this app you can transfer files between your phone and PC via wi-fi instead of plugging into the USB every time. Really convenient and useful. The Lite version is limited to 3MB files. This post has been edited by KennyKB: Dec 9 2011, 07:23 PM

QUOTE(nebousuke @ Dec 10 2011, 08:39 AM) actually, i think it is better just to get iPhone, i still dont think android is for any regular Joe, it ia juat too fiddly and messy and chaotic. I personally have seen how a rather tech savvy uncle struggle using an android phone. Struggle to use an Android phone? You make it sound so difficult. My primary school nephew can just use it just fine. For app centric users, go for ios or Android. Meego will be an "app desert" for the foreseeable future. Just let it charge for a few hours and try to on again. It may be just a depleted battery.

There's a new game in the ovi store - Protoxide. From the graphics this must be by a commercial developer. Good to know some commercial developers are still interested in N9. http://my-meego.com/software/applications....dAuto=805&faq=3
