How can i know my PPA account number and password? will FSM send me an email notification?
*
i remember my last experience. your PPA number is always start with "PPA" and your IC number. I never receive mail from PPA, so what I did is I email them or i select forgot password in their site.

Thanks, I am going to learn more about FSM, but firstly I think I have to go through the fund options available (growth/equity, local/asia) first - I am just too new to understand these funds. Do you look at each funds fact sheets like their investment portfolio?

Seems the choice is quite clear, I dont wish to be charged more annual fees when we can opt to choose the fund ourselves.

Of course. I look at the fund which I want to buy which for PRS isn't much.

Just pick one fund. No need to look so much

Since you're only going to withdraw at the age of 55, this won't be a big concern.

I have few questions regarding to this PRS,

1. How to calculate the "first 10 years tax relief" ? its start on since 2012, or the year that we start invest in the PRS ?

2. in what condition, we are able to withdraw all the amount in PRS? except for the account B 30% withdrawal with 8% penalty.

3. Is it really worth the RM3000 tax relief annually to invest on the PRS? what do u guys personally think of this?

4. Is there any PRS that can allow us to set our own duration of the investment?
for example like 10 years or 20 years later able to withdraw full amount .

1. From the year you invested. Valid for Rm3k tax relief (helps to bring down your tax bracket) only. Which means if you put in RM3k into any PRS 2017, you can claim RM3k tax relief in March 2018 (income tax month). If you put in RM4k in 2017, come March 2018, you can claim only RM4k.

2. You can withdraw all out if you give up your citizenship or reach 55 years old. biggrin.gif No penalty on that.

3. For me is worth. Why?
i) govt give you way to pay less tax, you don't want?
ii) money put into PRS is still your own money and can be withdraw in full once reach 55 years old. Money paid as tax is not your money anymore tongue.gif
iii) But money lock up leh... Mana bagus? That's why must choose good fund which
- able to beat inflation
- able to beat bank promo FD rates
- able to beat Amanah saham/EPF
Every sen saves from paying less tax = money available for investing

4) Nope. One way ticket for as long as tax relief is there. If no more tax relief, won't contribute. Hehehe...

1. It is start to calculate from 2012, the year when PRS was introduced but as long as the investment in PRS is still small, we are confident that the government will continue the rebate beyond 2021.

2. Upon retirement age 55 or migrate to other countries.

3. Yes if your tax bracket falls in the upper bracket (more than 10%). Else you better off with other investments.

4. No. You are looking more at saving plans from insurance companies for this kind of package and usually the ROI is only mediocre.

IMHO

3. Not if you can get can get an investment which give you average 10%p.a and let you pay less tax.

4. Agreed. Worst than or same as board rates FD.

10 years from scheme start date, not your own start investing date

try this site....

https://www.ppa.my/prs-and-you/prs-faq/

3. Is it really worth the RM3000 tax relief annually to invest on the PRS? what do u guys personally think of this?
depends on your tax bracket and the availability of better investment know how and options.

4. Is there any PRS that can allow us to set our own duration of the investment?

yes...you can set your own "Private" one....but without the tax benefits, starts with RM10K..... but maybe can have better returns....
example can try this.....
