just want to ask, i see some you mention here that the service charge is free for buying through FSM so meaning this is under the "FSM discounted saless charge" which is 0. However for management fee there will be percentage ringing from 1.5-2.25%? So is this the yearly management fees of the fund charge?
*
There are 2 types of charges. One is the sales charge and the other is the annual expense of the fund.
The annual expense of the fund is what is charged to the fund. This includes the fund manager's annual management fee, and other administrative fees that are incurred in the running of the fund. You do not really need to fork out additional money to pay for the annual management charge to the fund manager. They will actually deduct it from the Net Asset Value of the fund daily, and the published price will take into account of the pro-rated annual management charge.

Thanks for the clear explanation, do you know how much is the typical sales charges if it is bought through agents?
*
If not mistaken...prs sales charge is capped at 3%....some fund house don't charge it...so "these" agent will not charge...you need to see the fund factsheet or prospectus to see the details

PRS investments are not guaranteed and it does not have any statutory minimum dividend policy. You are advised to read and understand the Disclosure Document and Product Highlights Sheet to understand the risks involved before investing into a PRS.

Hi All sifu, I went through some of the past but not all

So, in general , the best things about PRS is tax relief, right?

Q1. What is the general return % of PRS?
see this...
https://gllt.morningstar.com/e6qvxuu98r/fun...B&tab=ShortTerm
just a note...cannot compare the results only..have to take notes of what and where the fund invested....are your risk appetite suitable for those funds?

Q2. Is there difference to all the PRS agent? Any better or worse one?
some agent charges 3% ..some charges 0%
good or bad have to depend on what you seek and your luck in getting one.
for some were good before meeting you and just happens to be in a bad mood tongue.gif
can DIY online if you want....

Q3. I saw we need to pay 3% on first buy and RM8+ on each year, confirm?
some PRS funds charges 0% ...about the charges..read the below googled links

Q4. Is it advisable to invest in PRS?  What is the real advantage? (I guess tax relief play important role here?)
apart from the tax relief...there are youth incentives and it hope to cultivates a habit /lifestyle changes .....monthly deduction habits hope to cultivates the habit of pay yourselves first.....after awhile.....one would morph into having less RM250 per month..... tongue.gif

Q5. How long will the tax relief last? Any limit on the year? I get tax relief every year as long as I invest?
http://www.hasil.org.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...sequ=1&bt_lgv=2

Q6. Tax relief RM3000 per year, right?
http://www.hasil.org.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...sequ=1&bt_lgv=2

Q7. I saw sth about switching fund? there is alot of different PRD fund even within same company?
see the googled link below

if i've just get approved by fsm, can i buy PRS straight without PPA account?
*
saw this at their FAQs

"For first-time PRS contributors, your PPA account opening must come together with PRS subscription and PPA account opening fee amounted to RM10.60 which will be deducted from your investment amount.

The purchase orders will only be processed after FSM receives the complete documents and PPA account opening fees."

For sure, Class C is cheaper, and we want to purchase CIMB PRS Class C. How should we do to ensure that we purchase CIMB-Principal PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity - Class C?

I do not want to be accidentally given CIMB-Principal PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity - Class A.

goto FSM MY site
on the top section...there are labelled tabs.....
click at the green colored tab labelled "PRS"
then a drop down list appears....
click on the "PRS Sales Charges"

then you will see it.

to be sure of the sales charges...during your buying transaction, before the final confirmation of your intention.....I think, they will list down the details including the Sales Charges to be paid

Hi, I just recently heard about PRS.

Few quick questions,

1) If I working with government and already have EPF, can I still apply for PRS and get more tax relief?

2) Let say I am planning to migrate after a few years, am I able to withdraw the PRS fund?

I have decided invest PRS with CIMB funds.. I saw that they have "do it for me"or "do-it-myself"options.. Which one that you guys choose? If "do-it-myself"option, how do you allocate your contributions? Any suggestions to help me decide?

Thank you

What is "Do-It-For-Me"?
Do-It-For-Me caters to those who want to leave their investment decision to the experts while building a solid foundation for retirement.

What is "Do-It-Myself"?
Do-It-Myself has been created for those who are comfortable with investment concepts and prefer to keep an active eye on their retirement investments.

You can choose from the 10 funds that best suit you, taking into consideration all your retirement planning needs and other investments you may have.

I placed my order and paid for my CIMB PRS fund on 30/10. On the same day, I went to the FSM office to submit the first time PPA and PRS registration to them.

Then on today, my purchase has been confirmed, but why does the NAV I get is based on 31st, and not on 30th which is the day I paid for my order?

I got less RM13 due to the NAV difference(I know this is little considering how much I have wasted over the months, but I just want to verify which NAV I am entitled to.)
*
My uneducated guess is that......after having completed yr a/c opening in ppa & having confirmed a/c number.....it is after their day's transaction closing time....thus it was carried firward to the next day....

sorry, could not answer your post directly....
hmm.gif my non experience and uneducated guess is that you will still be charged as stipulated.
my reason is that someone paid to have the top up infrastructure set up, will need to recover the investment.

have to really confirm my guess/assumption with those that did the top up in PPA site.

Can I withdraw money from my EPF account to invest in PRS? Since the EPF contribution is likely to be more than RM6k for tax relief, I’m wondering if I can do so to claim for addition 3k for PRS tax relief.
*
assuming you had reached the permitted EPF withdrawal age.....yes then you can as it is "cash",......BUT do consider the tax relief benefits VS the loss of EPF dividend rate vs PRS fund's ROI.....

Quick question,

I have a Public Mutual PRS Growth Fund, and I make contributions through https://www.prsmember.my due to convenience.

Whenever I deposit RM250, only RM234.08 is credited into my PRS account.
Is it normal for the transaction fees to this much? Calculated, that's like 6.36% in fees.
*
most probably is the 3% Sales Charges + annual fees RM 8 + GST on both?
