It's better to understand how much the bank charges for the SC first.
My guess is 3%.

im planning to get one for tax relief. possible to buy from fsm?

Option 2: Non-PRS

Normal investment in unit trusts are not entitled to tax relief.

Only PRS funds are eligble for tax relief till 2021.

As long as it's PRS fund from PRS providers, it is eligible.
Doesn't matter the buying channel.

Actually what is the tax relief for? So you invest 3k annually, get relieved 3k, then don't have to pay any income tax? Sorry this is my third month working havent started paying any taxes  sweat.gif

No problem with the website.
I tried with some dummy case. It is able to estimate the tax you need to pay for.

Anybody uses the PPA app?
Useful? Only for top up?

Their top up is using FPX Internet Banking. Each transaction charges 53 cents.

hi,

I found prs online from PPA website.
what is the difference between PRS online and FSM?
Limited info from the website.
here is the link:
http://ppa.my/about-ppa/prs-online/
*
FSM is just an intermediary among collaborated PRS providers; i.e sales channel.
PRS Online is just an apps for topping up existing PRS funds you had bought.

hi bros,

i got the rm500 youth incentive a fews ago when i invested rm3,000 into PRS.

i'm aware that there's another promotion now whereby if you invest rm1,000, you'll get rm1,000 back.

question is, do i qualify since i've received the earlier one? (i'm still qualified in terms of age etc.)
*
No, you're not eligible.

PPA fee is only incurred if you perform top up or buy new fund from second year onward.

RM 8 PPA fee is charged by PPA the regulator.

So we ask FSM how to go through the PRS nomination process right?

I don't know.
PRS is under your name according to FSM.

If tax relief expires, you can treat this instrument as forced saving.

Q1: I am new to PRS, if I start purchase in year 2017, will I get Tax Relief for the next 10 years (2027) if I fund RM3k/year?
A1:

Q2: Which is the best PRS company now?
A2:
*
A1: Tax relief is not based on the year of your purchase. It comes from the government budget.
The relief is going to expire in 2021. Whether it'll be extended depends on who'll be the PM or Finance Minister in 2020.

A2: Everybody has different taste/risk/requirement. It's an open ended question.

currently i have 1k fund on ISEQF
planning to topup another 2k before end of this month
any recommended fund or should or put on current ISEQF?
*
First time? Or recurrent?
Suggest to concentrate on one fund house per calendar year.
Otherwise, you need to pay more than once annual fee of RM 8.48 per fund house.
