Today I got my HP DV6-6186TX.

Specs are:
Intel Core i7-2670QM
8GB DDR3
1TB 5400RPM Toshiba MK1059GSM Drive
Blu-ray Drive BD-RE B11N
15.6" Full HD Screen LGD0259
Radeon HD 6770M with 2GB DDR5

Sad to say, there is no local forum where they discuss this model of HP laptop to this depth and level of understanding. That's why I'm here.

Now proceeding to follow the steps on the first post.

I followed the steps on page 1 and I've successfully:
(1) Updated from "Windows Update"
(2) Uninstalled several bloatware
(3) Created recovery DVDs
(4) Deleted Recovery Partition
(5) Save SWSetup to a DVD
(6) Repartition C drive as C - windows and apps, D - documents, E - installs and others
(8) Set up the envytouchpad and loving it!
(7) Updated BIOS

Now I need to update the video drivers. I downloaded the file "sp53025.exe" from hp. Are these the correct drivers for my DV6-6168TX?

Weird question: I'm flying to Singapore tomorrow and I'd like to get the extended 9-cell battery for my DV6-6168TX. It isn't available in my country.

Would anyone here know a shop in Singapore that carries it? And how much it would cost, roughly?

I was able to buy the MU09 extended 9-cell battery from the HP shop at the fourth floor of Sim Lim Square at SG$299. There were other shops offering "replacement" batteries at half the price but with no warranty and I had no guarantee that the cells inside are of good quality.

There was even one shop that said they could order for me a 12-cell at SG$100. Surprise, surprise..

Got this mouse also at Sim Lim.



On sale at SG$15. Also matches nicely with the DV6.
