Looks the the DV6 range is already being updated with new CPUs in HP websites overseas. i5-2410 --> i5-2430, i7-2630 --> i7-2670. I'm sure the prices will increase later when these new CPUs are updated over here...

Just got my 6001TX from Thundermatch. Too lazy to wait for PCFair this weekend.

OK, I'm gonna wipe the HDD and reinstall Windows 7 because the laptop is just friggin slow with all the cr@pware installed. Can't imagine they even have a shortcut to ebay.com.my on the desktop!!! I've already made the recovery DVDs and copied out the SwSetup folder. Anything else I need to do before I wipe the HDD (wipe as in also delete the recovery partition )

Also which graphic drivers should I install? Official Catalyst from AMD + Official Intel driver or just get the AMD and Intel graphic drivers from HP website?

@AmeiN, I got it for RM2569, told them I didn't want the dunno what free 10-in-1 stuff (cheapo mouse, DVD cleaner, blah blah blah). But I extended to 3 year 3 business days HP Care Pack for RM100 and added another 4GB RAM for RM80. So total RM2749. Bought screen protector, keyboard protector (but doesn't fit), transparent skin and battery charger organizer all for RM20 at the shop E-Power nearby.

Total damage = RM2769

Don't bother with those, only thing I used was the screen protector which fits *almost* perfectly (about 2mm not covered on both sides). The rest does not fit (too small).

BTW, those of U who are thinking to get this babies at clearance price better hurry up, they are no longer in production as the new batch with the 2670QM CPUs are replacing them. RM3999 for the 6001TX equivalent + 200MHz speed bump.

I swear I saw the model on HP Malaysia website for RM3999 and it is not Full HD but with 2GB 6770m. But I just checked and it is not there. The other new model is there for RM2899 but that comes with 6490m and no USB3.0

What is the difference or benefit between official Catalyst vs official driver from HP?

So how can I install official Catalyst and maintain the graphic switching?

Cool! That was much easier than I thought!

Just tested Battlefield 3 for about an hour. Smooth as a baby's bottom with the auto settings except I changed AA from 16x to 1x, but the fan is spinning like mad.

I was also choosing between the i5 N55SF and the 6001TX. It is a no brainer at the end of the day if the priority is for gaming.

6770m > 555m in N55SF.

Just upgraded to the latest Catalyst 11.10. Driver version shows 8.902.0.0. Tested BF3 with the new drivers and I happen to capture the temperature. 1 of the cores peaked at 90C.

I left everything at default. How to enable/disable turboboost?

Coolsense was left at default settings at the medium (can't remember what it was called).
