Yes.It's around RM80+. I am using both U3 and Infinite Evo. Both are ok.Evo is slightly more expensive at RM90+. While U3 has adjustable fans that you can position to cool down specific parts of laptop, Evo has distributes the heat through the aluminium top and cool them using 2 fans. The good thing about Evo is u can use it on bed as the intake is behind. That's the reason I got 2 of them. I used Evo more for my dv6 and U3 is for another spare laptop. So it really depends on how u use it. Forget about using U3 on the bed, I've tried, the output air is really low as the intake is blocked.

QUOTE(dycod @ Dec 3 2011, 10:19 PM) Is evo really suitable for dv6-6001? I see the vents of evo are at the middle but dv6 got vents at the bottom left side and this side is the hottest when i play game. |

Added on December 4, 2011, 12:18 am@Acid i'm using HP drivers, it is pretty good, even though 800/1000 overclocking makes my PC shut down after like 30 mins of playin... This post has been edited by kAmilli: Dec 4 2011, 12:18 AM |

QUOTE(keyzjh @ Dec 3 2011, 06:33 PM) No matter how many times u reconnect it still show that msg? QUOTE(riziger @ Dec 3 2011, 07:43 PM) Guys just got skyrim, what's the best settings we can put using the CCC and in-game for best performance? Now just using the default "High" that skyrim recommends. I didn't change anything in CCC for Skyrim. You can try my config. Extract both into ..\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\ Backup your config 1st incase you didn't like mine. I think mine have lower draw distance compare to default.
Skyrim.7z ( 2.86k )

Is it? CoolSense set@Coolest already? Btw, 6167TX use 6490M instead of 6770M. |

QUOTE(foogie @ Dec 3 2011, 09:11 PM) Hey, n55sf seems to be a tad more stable compared to dv6, better cooling, i would say. but the big ass Asus logo, and the huge b & o speakers are a bit annoying. Looks rather cheap compared to dv6. Plus, no numpad. btw,im comparing wif i5 version of n55sf..da price is 2799 now and same with ur stated price for dv6 which is 2799+its i7..dv6 can get from mobility square sdn bhd (lowyat 4th floor i think) for rm2799 with free 3 years warranty, 8gigs ram, and all the extra freebies like mouse, headset (not beats, of course), notebook cooler, etc. 1 thing to note is, i had to deal twice this month with HP service center (HP towers damansara) due to problems with both my dv6s (1 fan noise, another one graphics card burnt), but in both cases, warranty service was superb, got it back the day after i sent it in (not to mention free parking at hp towers). So, kudos to HP service center (i wont say the same for hp support though, but u get awesome hp support from this lowyat thread already, so, oh well). if compare to asus which is only i5 wiith tat price, eveybody will choose i7 rite.. so now,why is tat dv6 price drop so low from 3k ++?? are there so many problems until drop tat much in order to clear the dv6 stock? |

Damn, Acid, u found out my problem XD I thought that if i do as advised - Run as Admin, then set to coolest - i won't have to change it everytime. Guess i was wrong, sometimes it doesn't automatically set it up from start up. BTW, that driver that u recommended, 8.93 of that date - freaking awesome, best performance, stability and overclocking. Thanks, Acid XD I wish you'd just post everytime u change to a better driver cuz ur recommendations rule!

Graphic card will not be blown by vents directly but the heat is dissipated by the aluminium top. It's warm during gameplay. |

I think if you unplug your battery, CoolSense setting will return to default when u reboot or shutdown. That is why i use Window PowerPlan to disable TurboBoost instead of relying on CoolSense. CoolSense do make the fan spin sooner though. QUOTE(spicediablo @ Dec 4 2011, 07:42 AM) Graphic card will not be blown by vents directly but the heat is dissipated by the aluminium top. It's warm during gameplay. The left palmrest is like a huge heatsink. You need a tablefan to help it dissipate the heat faster or switch to iGPU. |

Hey jerry, there's not much problem with the dv6 if you have been apart of this thread for quite some time (especially with 6001tx). but again, heating problems might be a bit of a concern, and the 6770m can be a tad unstable with certain drivers (but the latest HP november drivers seemed to have solved this). I used to have crash to desktop issues, but with the new drivers, all gone (not to mention bf3 now runs perfectly in seine crossing with no lag). if compare to asus which is only i5 wiith tat price, eveybody will choose i7 rite.. so now,why is tat dv6 price drop so low from 3k ++?? are there so many problems until drop tat much in order to clear the dv6 stock? And again, the service u're gonna get (for warranty claims etc, if any) is gonna be top notch with hp. Not sure about asus though. Hope that helps in your decision making! |
