Below the "AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver" there is also the Intel HD driver.
I'm currently running DNA11.8 driver, if I use driver sweeper to clean up, which one should I install first? |

Altho it doesnt come out often..but is like twice a month = = Nothing wrong with the video card... just how the driver and windows handle the GPU clocks. If you google the error message, you'll get alot of similar result mostly with ATI/AMD cards and mostly with switchable graphics. Many suggested to disable PowerPlay but disabling PowerPlay bring a gay after-effect that permanently set the card on idle clock no matter what is the situation. That's why i posted a guide here on how to set the clock permanently to anyone that frequently encounter the problem to try that, because i rarely get it so i can't confirm if it is working or not. QUOTE(Soylent Red) Based on some research I've done on this topic, I learned that with certain video cards, Windows 7's power saving settings reduce the voltage to the video card too much when it's idle. Many 3D cards require a minimum voltage to be stable, but when "idle", they are basically asleep so everything should be ok. However, now that so many apps are "hardware or video accelerated" (like Flash, Quicktime, Java, Firefox 4, IE9), the video card is being used when it's in "idle mode" and under-voltage. Link to google search result on the error. site:answers.microsoft.com the driver has stopped responding and recovered |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Oct 17 2011, 07:19 PM) ^ without cooler? MSI overclocking tool can be used in HP laptop too? Anyway.. those who still having problem with frequent driver not responding/crashing kindly try these steps with MSI Afterburner. 1. Download and install MSI Afterburner beta here. 2. Open a file name MSIAfterburner.cfg with Notepad inside MSI AF main folder and change from CODE [ATIADLHAL] toUnofficialOverclockingEULA = UnofficialOverclockingMode = 0 AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0 UnifiedMemoryUsageMonitoring = 1 CODE [ATIADLHAL] UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it UnofficialOverclockingMode = 2 AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0 UnifiedMemoryUsageMonitoring = 1 3. Open/Restart MSI Afterburner. Change the clock to any values except default (725/800). 4. After that monitor the Core Clock and Memory Clock graphs and make sure its not fluctuating. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 5. Try to replicate your 'driver stop responding' situation. Kindly give feedback to me. |
