Yeah it gets warmer with AMD card. Switch to Intel if u're not gaming or using intensive 3D work.

Added on November 19, 2011, 7:31 pmA new official AMD driver from HP is on the way. From the version number, its from Catalyst 11.8.
It also included a new graphics for DV6-6CXX series which i think confirmed what lee sifu posted that HD7690M is a rebadge of HD6770M and HD7470M is a rebadge of HD6490M.




Also there is a new BIOS coming F.1B. But from the changelog i don't think i will update it.



There is no ETA yet for both driver and graphic. But it will be release real soon according to NBR SMod.

I see.. you might want to try Splash Player. It play Mpeg-TS, MKV, AVI, MP4 and WMV really smooth. Can't play RMVB tho..

Hey Acid, what is the profit in uninstalling those Intel programs? Does it help gaming? Also, is DNA 11.8.3 driver the best framerate-wise? Or should i install 11.11 for those new games like Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, LA Noire and Batman? And about that official driver, why they chose 11.8?

Also, i found this guy, he is doing "Hp-like" updates for ATI drivers, newest Intel and AMD drivers installing together so that u don't have to install drivers OVER original HP driver. Check it out and link it in the original post if u think it is helpful : http://leshcat.blogspot.com/

As far as players go, if no one heard of PotPlayer, it's from the maker of KM Player which was the best player until recently it stopped updating. It is the most powerful player on the market along with MPC, and i prefer it over MPC for audio and better video quality. It also is updated frequently on this website with English version of the player (It is Korean by default) : http://www.dvbsupport.net/download/index.php?act=view&id=236. I switch off deinterlacing in the player and enforce Vector adaptive deinterlacing from CCC. Image is crisp It plays every extension of media file too.

Not really.. imo, if you don't use it why have it in your pc. Less applications the better. DNA 11.8.3 gave me the best stability, compatibility and overclockability..

I wanted to try but i'll wait for 11.11 release from him/her.

I used to use KMPlayer before.. but since MPC-HC/WMP/Splash is good enough for me nowadays i didn't give it a try.

where's the laptop intake vents located? the one at the back?

The back is the exhaust. Intake from bottom cover but air hardly can get thru it imo.

If use ur laptop to play games all the time with going mobile, consider to take off the bottom panel.

acid: new driver like got issue or my lappy. the brightness increase itself during i play pes 12 with my bro.. the cpu temp hit 74 when i alt + tab the brightness like saturated so i quickly switch off the lappy.

on it! back to normal.. it happened last9 during arsenal match. RVP scored twice. i din put him as captain & gave my armband to gervinho T_T

i used to like firefox, din bother about chrome.but firefox latest version have too many performance issues, made my youtube video jerk evrytime.so i switched to chrome in the end, never looked back
