My friend own a new Exora Bold where in the manual called for 10W/30, but when he went to SC for first service, they pour in 10W/40...i presume is ok...
*
as salam,

not just ok, but it is state on the manual on every car...Recommended but as long as you follow the chart(look on the manual again), it will give you some charting on viscosity grade you can use...

depend on climate....

10w-30,5w-30 is suitable ofr TOWN DRIVING where so many stop and go...

10w-40,15w-40, 20w-50, 15w-50 and so on are suitable also plus good for highway and high revving engine...

5w-20, 0w-20, 0w-30??nahh...i dont think Malaysia have the climate that so cold....even at genting or cameroon not so cold...

coz even if you use 20w, your car still can start at temperature 5 degree celcius....

just my 34.5 sen..

I brought in my old proton saga to the shop and they sold recommended me a Nasa 20W-50. Since im noob in this department, i took it. Service costed about RM95.

Now that i read up, i feel i got ripped off a bit. but oh well.
20w-50 should be a high viscous oil right? meaning high temp and high Fuel consumption.
*
20w50 does not mean it will have high viscosity and high temp range....it all depend on the DATASHEET...find it via manufacturer....

high viscosity = HIGH VISCOSITY INDEX

high temperature operation = FLASH POINT value..

What formula (5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30 or 10W-40, mineral, semi or fully synthetic) I should use for my car:

condition:
HONDA ACCORD CB4 2.0 (1991) but engine was changed to newer engine (honda accord vtec sv4)

engine oil for engine protection and cleaning, more fuel efficiency
rarely highway and heavy traffic road, but often on snake-shaped and hilly road

I prefer to use Shell Helix 7 oils..but duno which to choose..
or any other suggestions?
*
Petro-Canada Supreme 5w30 Semi Synthetic or Fully Synthetic is ok....high flash point and viscosity index value..

Could anyone please advice me on which brand and type I should use for my Honda civic 2007, 2000CC.

thanks!!!
*
either 10w40 or 5w30 is ok..

or you can try heavy duty one..either 15w40 or 10w40 or 5w40 or 0w30...if you're pedal to metal guy...more protection while high rpm..

are you pedal to metal driver or rileks one??

how about gearbox oil ? which one better
*
hard to tell which one is better...manual or auto??

if manual, then any 75w90 or 80w90 is ok then....if auto, is it normal auto or cvt??if CVT, use only CVT fluid...if normal, then check again what type or dexron or mercon suitable...
