is all engine oil from tesco (shell &castroll) usable?because its made in EU.what's the difference between this oil and local made oil.want to know since have to change my oil this wednesday.thanks!
*
Liqui Moly is made in Germany; Torco made in USA; both brands have been receiving great reviews from many motorists.
Therefore I think country of production doesn't matter.

Yesterday, I just found out that engine oil(shell HX7) sold in TESCO doest not contain protective plastic.
HX7 bought from shell petrol station has protective plastic.
For me la,i think its possible a fake oil,
please, any expert in Lowyat.net can prove me wrong?
picture attached will show u what i mean by protective plastic.

Tesco imported the oils directly from EU.
If hypermarket such as Tesco is really selling fake oils, will Shell keep quiet ?

If you are still in doubt, you may write email to Tesco to voice this out. I believe they would be glad to explain to you/the public.

P407 , is tis oil good ? I call them they say got castrol end up castrol is semi , fully only caltex...cannot bring own oil somemore
*
As long as the oil is real engine oil with correct viscosity, your car should be fine.
If can bring own oil, you may try Amsoil/RedLine/Torco/LiquiMoly, not sure if these brands carry 5L packing.

Am already using liqui moly 10w60. Brought 2 cartons(8 bottles) from a dealer before in KL But his business ceased some time ago and he lost touch with us. So now sourcing for new contacts.

Also , looking at liqui moly ceratec. I swear by its smoothness and engine protection capabilities.( p.s, I am not promoting their hardware, just a firm believer)

8 bottles in one shot, you must have got discounted price brows.gif

Just need opinions here. I am driving Swift and using Motul oil now. It is very good and lasting I think compared to previous Shell oil I used before. I want to try different oil for next service. What type of oil should I used? Perhaps something less expensive or at least similar price as the Motul (I forgot the exact type number but it is fully synthetic). The mileage is around 82+++ km.

RedLine 5w30 or 5w40, about RM55 per quart (946mL).

Are the engine oil bought from Tesco and other supermarkets original? I bought the Shell Helix Ultra from Tesco and it is cheaper but the bottle is different from the one bought at petrol stations.
*
Tesco source engine oils from EU. Their packing may differ from the ones sold in gas stations/spare part shops/workshops.
Do you think Tesco dare to sell fake oils?
Even if they do, you know the legal right to sue them for causing damage to your engine.
