If iam not mistaken Yuu Kajima was MIA in the manga, unlike the Game lost encounter of space where he made it in 1 piece???

There a rumour that Yuu Kajima appeared in CCA, He was part of the Jegan reinforcement they came when Chen T pass em.

Violent, bloody violent is all I can say in epsiode 3. While the amount of mecha action per episode is roughly the same as other gundam series, there's abundance of human killing here. Numerous scenes of space stations blowing up, consuming human bodies in fireballs is more visually stimulating than destroying MSes. This reminds me of the indifferent killing of civilians and soldiers in Victory. Not that I am a sadist, but this huge amount of violence is essential to bring out the feeling of brutal in war.

Having said that, mecha battles are still slightly imperfect. Apart from the interesting battle between Stargazer and Noir, the grunt battles repeats the same mistakes as previous CE series. Grunts, especially the DSSD Astrays here still do not know how to duck. They hover stationary when firing, and end up getting shot. Shams death was quite appropriately depicted, yet I think it would be better had he self-destructed his Buster, taking out all the surrounding Astrays. It would further emphasise the brutal image of the Phantom Pain team.

Back to the aforementioned duel btw SG and Noir. I was ZOMFG-ed when SG released the green beams that orbited around the mecha itself. My first impression was Starcraft - Defensive Matrix Before that, when SG attacked the grunts it flew around in circles, emitting rotating yellow beam rings from it's back, I thought I saw beam rotors. I guess I was misled by the harmless, unarmed impression of SG and never thought it could be used as a battle unit. Noir repeated its boring fighting initially when it fought the stationary grunts; but the use of the cables was a good move. However it could be better if the cables could be used as whips ala Epyon style.

But I still don't get it. Selene's intention of trapping Noir and requesting the firing of the Genesis in order to destroy it was hard to comprehend. There's no need to sacrifice herself under those circumstances, as SG was still battle-ready.

The ending part was superbly done, as they planned to return to Earth after being blasted to some obscure place between Earth and Venus. The brief explanation of Voltar Lumiere was a good addition, making the fictional technology much more comprehensible.

However, I was slightly disappointed with the way the story ended. Just went back home? I was hoping for some deep space exploration! I felt that it would be better had SG travelled further to somewhere between Jupiter and Saturn, and 27 days of supplies were inadequate. It would have made the situation more hopeless and grim for Selene and Sven, hence leaving an open ending with lots of possibilities, eg saved by those fellas on Mars. The current ending is such that the viewer would feel less for them as it is certain that both of them will return home.

It would have been the best if SG was blasted out of the solar system, and both Selene and Sven had no chance of returning with adequate supplies. And just seconds before they died, they saw colonies of flying space whales, like what George Glenn discovered. This would at least put some association with the alien creatures that was so intriguing when mentioned in GS but forgotten throughout the series.

duh..the SG's power was running low,it cant possibly put up a fight any longer.

In the end,it said 669 hours which is 27.875 days,and i bet it is up to the viewer to judge whether they made it or not.
For me,i say no,i always wanted the protaganist or plenty of people from his/her die,especially after watching gundam V. It vexes me when characters dont die in movies.

Speaking of space whales,i dont remember seeing any of it in the last episode ,and isnt it one of the highlights of this show?
