QUOTE(guy4versa @ Oct 13 2011, 02:37 AM) It's available for download now. 1. Update your iTunes to version 10.5 (Download from Apple website, or if using Mac, just hit software update) 2. Sync your iPhone. (I do this twice, as a precaution) 3. Click "Update" on the iPhone summary page on iTunes. |

QUOTE(Scarthis @ Oct 13 2011, 03:24 PM) Hi, my ip4 after I updated cant on already. It restores everything and now I can't use my phone lol. Anyone experience this? Did you update all apps first before upgrading to iOS5? This may have something to do with Facebook app, cos it was bricking a lot of iPhones after one of their updates. Happened to me, 2 days ago, but before I upgraded to iOS5 that's why I am thinking this may be the problem. Had to restore my iPhone from backup. Yours can't on at all? Or stays at Apple logo? |

QUOTE(evoangel @ Oct 14 2011, 12:04 PM) i dont understand the wifi sync.. it still need to be plug in with cable to my pc then only can wirelessly sync?? 1. WIFI SYNCJust to clarify, wifi sync is particular about how much battery life you have (to avoid interrupted sync suddenly, and you lose data), so if you don't have enough battery life, it will grey out the sync button. Just plug in power, and it will be available balik to press. 2. Assistive Touch + triple click combo I love Assistive Touch, but am bothered by the white button hanging out on my screen all the time (OCD a bit haha). What I have done is assigned Assistive Touch to the Triple Click Home command, and now I can activate and de-activate as I like. Thought you guys might find this useful. 1. Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch>ON 2. Settings>General>Accessibility>Triple-click Home>Toggle AssistiveTouch |

QUOTE(vassilius @ Oct 14 2011, 06:57 PM) actually until now, when i plug my iPhone iOS 4.3.3 into the iTunes, the prompt out still notify me to update to iOS 4.3.5 instead of iOS 5... Hmm yes and no. Reduction of home button is a benefit of course, but not the only point. Assistive touch is also about one hand usage. Added on October 14, 2011, 6:58 pm the whole idea of assistive touch is to reduce the home button click... no? My combo is for a specific crowd (Love using one hand only or lazy + don't like Assistive Touch button on the screen all the time) If you fit the above, can use the combo. Some dont mind having the Assistive Touch on screen all the time, so no need the combo. |

QUOTE(qiqi771 @ Oct 14 2011, 07:52 PM) Most important thing is always backup backup backup.Went very smoothly for me, but hearing reports of little headaches here and there, maybe because major OS update. Just as a reference, a pretty good write up here about anyone who may have lost contacts after the upgrade (Hint, in some cases, your contacts may not be lost at all, just not finished syncing yet): http://www.seangw.com/wordpress/index.php/...st-my-contacts/ |

Agree with people here. iOS 5 is a brilliant update, not due to any one big change, but the hundreds of little ones, making this OS feel so much more mature. Love these new features:
Notification center iMessage (use it a lot with my family) Reminders (use this a lot too) Camera button and also camera access straight from locked mode Assistive Touch, save home button clicks From your camera, you can now swipe to your camera roll Calendar - in day view, you can swipe for different days iMessage - you can Facetime your iMessage contacts directly from within iMessage Oh and my absolute favourite, Reader feature of Safari. I like to email articles to my family, and not just links, cos they malas to open. Sometimes a hassle to cut paste. Now, like in desktop Safari, Reader feature is here. Try and load any article online, or blog or whatever, once fully loaded, "reader" button appears in the Safari address bar. Click it, and it will just take the pics and text, and get rid of advertisements etc. You can then email directly from there. |

QUOTE(qiqi771 @ Oct 17 2011, 03:25 PM) how to get the assistive touch works? (i know bout the settings>generals>bla..bla..) Assistive touch allows you to do everything using just one hand (including pinch to squeeze resizing, two, three, four even five finger gestures, shake your iPhone, lock and unlock, mute, rotate screen, volume up volume down, and some custom gestures. i just dun get how it functions. sorry, dummy here~~ QUOTE(deepan84 @ Oct 17 2011, 04:01 PM) whatsapp > imessage. iMessage is like a crippled whatsapp. well, im stil using Whatsapp due to its wide coverage among all brands and more functions. Hope iMessage improves it functions in iOS6. I agree that Whatsapp is more flexible. I use both Whatsapp and iMessage. It is however, quite clever on Apple's part, cos believe it or not, there are many people who have iPhones who don't even know how to download apps. So for these people, iMessage gives them a bit of Whatsapp capabilities built in when they buy the phone, the same way some people buy Blackberry for BBM. |

QUOTE(CLian @ Oct 17 2011, 07:14 PM) Noticeable speed after the iOS 5 update, on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad. Just a note, after upgrading and installing stuff, it is good practice to restart your iPhone/iPad. This clears the memory, and prevents lag. |

Just a general reminder here, but after all the major updating etc etc, please restart your iPhone. Sometimes, even after updating one app only, iPhone a bit unstable because a lot of memory used. Restarting normally gets rid of a lot of little problems.
Press Home + Power button until phone switches off and Apple logo reappears. |
