QUOTE(Da_Shiang @ Oct 13 2011, 01:50 AM) some people concerned about the pirated apps they downloaded. IOS 5 will definitely clean your device of pirated apps. That's a good thing but it's worth it, maybe.well, restrict yourself from updating iOS 5 if you concern about your pirated apps. keep the thread clean peeps! |

For those who jailbreak previously and/or use TinyUmbrella, make sure your /etc/hosts file is not redirecting gs.apple.com to Saurik's servers.
You can just comment it out. CODE # 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com That should get rid of 3002. edit: don't forget to flush your DNS cache edit: this is for 3002, not 3200. This post has been edited by soonwai: Oct 13 2011, 03:43 AM |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Oct 13 2011, 03:51 AM) error 3002 That's for Mac, just use notepad.exe. Your hosts file is Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts or something like that.Detailed instructions: 1. Open Terminal, then type the following: Code: sudo nano /etc/hosts 2. Find this line in your hosts file and delete it: Code: 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com 3. Alternatively, If you want to preserve the line, you can place a '#' at the start of the line to ignore it, so it looks like this: Code: #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com 4. Press control+o and hit enter to save. 5. Try your update again. but what is terminal? I'm using windows vista...pls help And remember to flush your cache after the edit. Again, this is for 3002 not 3200. This post has been edited by soonwai: Oct 13 2011, 03:57 AM |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Oct 13 2011, 04:22 AM) 3002 mean no ECID SHSH for your iPhone therefore unable to sign your update.3200 is probably an error related to server too busy. (which also means no ECID SHSH to sign your update) If you think about it, an overloaded server may give you either errors. If you have that "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" line in your hosts file, it should only give you error 3002. So in your case, just keep trying. What do you get if you ping gs.apple.com? Something like below then it's OK, your hosts file is not the problem. $ ping gs.apple.com PING gs.apple.com.akadns.net (17.112.176.11): 56 data bytes ... |

Since Apple servers are so hammered. Here's a thought:
1. Attempt to save your 5.0 SHSH with TinyUmbrella 2. Run Tinyumbrella's TSS server 3. and restore/update the iPhone to 5.0 using this server instead of gs.apple.com. Wonder if that'll work. |

QUOTE(matthewctj @ Oct 15 2011, 08:12 PM) Updated mine and my wife's iPhone to iOS 5. No problem thus far. However, I hope someone can help me clarify some issues. Both her's & mine are using my Apple ID email address as the iTunes account. Our setup (wife's and my phone)As I understand it, the purpose of iCloud is so that all devices will have the same contacts, photos, email and etc backup. Will iCloud be able to differentiate both different devices even though they share the same Apple ID? Similarly, under iMessage, it doesn't work with my wife's device. But it worked with a friend of mine who is using iOS 5. Firstly, before asking me to create another Apple ID, I did so in order for us to share the purchased apps rather than using another Apple ID and then have to pay for it again. Are both my predicament up there related to the reason of having only 1 Apple ID shared between 2 devices? I don't want to sync with iCloud only to have my wife's contacts or vice versa. If that is the reason, any way to resolve it? If creating another Apple ID is the last resort, then I may not have a choice. But if there is an alternative, that would be great. AppleID1@myemail.my on both phones for iTunes music/app store. To share purchased stuff. AppleID2@myemail.my on my phone & iPad for iCloud & iMessage. AppleID3@myemail.my on wife's for iCloud & iMessage. Separate iCloud AppleID to keep the address book separate and also for imessaging. My iphone and iPad has the same AppleID for iMessage so I can iMessage on the phone and them switch to the iPad. This post has been edited by soonwai: Oct 15 2011, 08:38 PM |
