I doubt error 3002 has anything to do with Jailbreaking. Cuz my iPad has never been Jb-ed.

You're correct. As long as you have that line in your hosts file, you'll get an error.

Detailed instructions:

1. Open Terminal, then type the following:

2. Find this line in your hosts file and delete it:

3. Alternatively, If you want to preserve the line, you can place a '#' at the start of the line to ignore it, so it looks like this:

4. Press control+o and hit enter to save.

5. Try your update again.

Updated mine and my wife's iPhone to iOS 5. No problem thus far. However, I hope someone can help me clarify some issues. Both her's & mine are using my Apple ID email address as the iTunes account.

As I understand it, the purpose of iCloud is so that all devices will have the same contacts, photos, email and etc backup. Will iCloud be able to differentiate both different devices even though they share the same Apple ID? Similarly, under iMessage, it doesn't work with my wife's device. But it worked with a friend of mine who is using iOS 5.

Firstly, before asking me to create another Apple ID, I did so in order for us to share the purchased apps rather than using another Apple ID and then have to pay for it again.

Are both my predicament up there related to the reason of having only 1 Apple ID shared between 2 devices? I don't want to sync with iCloud only to have my wife's contacts or vice versa. If that is the reason, any way to resolve it? If creating another Apple ID is the last resort, then I may not have a choice. But if there is an alternative, that would be great.
