my iPhone 3gs is running iOS5 GM at the moment. i feel so happy bcoz the iOS does not lag at all in 3Gs. so if on ip4, it will run without any hitch :-)

on itunes, my phone name is AAAA but in My Computer (to access the photos taken by camera), the name appears as BBBB. how to solve this problem? is it bcoz i synced more than two iOS devices on my pc? i have deleted all backups, but still, nothing happen.

if i want to downgrade from iOS 5 GM to iOS 4.3.5/4.3.3, which itunes version should i use, 10.4.1 or 10.5?

when u want to downgrade also troublesome. after so much hassle, and numerous attempts, only then i managed to downgrade my iphone 3gs to iOS 4.1 (i bought my iphone 2nd hand, previous user only saved SHSH 4.1 and 4.2.1 *facepalm* )

I've read somewhere, the GM version won't have big different with the official one. My hands were itchy, that's why i choose to install it early and i do really love iOS5 enhancement over iOS4.3.5, especially the notification center and notification appears on the lock screen.

A word of advice to forumer here, do not sync and update your friend device with the same itunes coz it will cause your iPhone name (the popup boz same as pendrive) appears to be your friend instead of yourself.

For my case, before i update to iOS5 GM, i backed up my phone, later i restored it back. All seems normal to me :-)

My case is like this, im using 4.3.5 before updating to ios5. got glitch, therefore i want to downgrade to 4.3.5 back. checked with TinyUmbrella, only SHSH 4.1 and 4.2.1 available to use. nevermind, downgrade to 4.1 and it is successful. this afternoon, want to update to 4.3.5, itunes wont allow me to do so, got error 1015. been searching for the solution from the web. nothing can be done. straight away update to ios5 back. using restore from backup ios4.1. so far no problem encounter.

I noticed that when snapping photo using default camera, the shutter is bit slower compared to ios4.3.5. Anyone facing the same problem?

Sure can. the .ipsw is available to donwload without using itunes, but when updating u sure need an internet connection as it will need to verify it with apple server

since iOS5 GM for iPhone 3Gs is nearly 670mb, expect the iOS5 for iPhone 4 nearly 800mb

make sure to download latest itunes as well as u might need it to connect with iphone

when iOS5 officially launch later, u'll be updating straight away to iOS5, no more 4.3.5

to those who are having error 3002, this is what i've done. i did not finish downloading the .ipsw via itunes. i download the .ipsw somewhere elsd (direct download) later, when restoring using the ipsw error 3002 pops up. i move the downloaded file to C:\Users\ur name\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iphone software updateafter that, restore again, all good to go.
