Yah, this was just discussed at ronnie's How Much Cash Back I Earned Thread. The 20% cash back started months back and will run to March 2012. I have written about the 20% cash back in June 2011 in my blog titled AMBank Credit Card Promo where I mentioned that best chances of getting cash back is on the 1st Saturday of every month and the next day your chances gets slimmer and don't hope to get any cash back if you swipe on the last weekend of the month.

Actually I don't know if this matter deserves a new topic, it will be same as ronnie's thread where people will just report how much cash back they earn.

ronnie, how about you rename your thread to Credit Card Cash Back - report your cash back and promos.

Its real but be aware of the fine terms and conditions.

1. Rebates given in spending blocks of RM100 for non-petrol and RM50 for petrol, means you get nothing if you spend short of RM100, and you will get nothing for anything more than RM100 and less than RM200.

2. Limit to RM80 per month per customer, first come first serve.

To benefit you really have to do some planning (to spend more than RM100 if its for non petrol), as well as take some risks (that the rebate hasn't run out for the month). 

i swipe ambank card only on 1st saturday of the month, before 9am, then can only get the cashback, seriously

this is bcoz, only the first 2,500 swipes (that meet the terms & conditions) will get the cashback.

i pump petrol at saturday 00:01 then go to tesco at 8am, finished paying by 8:30am usually.

(and yea, noticed another people paying there @ tesco also using ambank card)

if i'm not mistaken, you should talking about me.  Yes, i almost max out Am Bank 20% cash back every month since their last year promo started.
I usually spent on the first week of the month either Sat or Sun. I'll pump RM100 petrol (Petronas & not Caltex because i feel petronas fuel give my car better power) and spend RM300 at either Tesco, Jusco or Giant to stock up one whole month groceries for a family. 

1st case scenario
If you are aware, sometime Tesco do give RM10 voucher for every RM100 you spend at Star paper ads. With these Tesco vouchers, i'll perform three separate payment of RM100 each in order to fully max out Am Bank and Tesco promo. In other word, total RM300 spend at Tesco giving me back saving of RM90 (saving of 30%). 

2nd case scenario
Happen on Jusco sales promo for members whereby entitle to extra 5% discount on supermarket items. I'll stock up all daily needs if the price is really cheap. Eg: 1 bottle of shampoo normal price RM12.90, promo RM8.90 + 5% (must purchase with member card) = RM8.45 per bottle (saving of 35%). Usually, i'll buy ten bottles to stock up for the whole family. Look into others product too such as milk, milo, coffee and others if they are really cheap. And don't forget to check the expiry date before you buy because you are going to use it for long time if you stock it up

I agree that it's not easy to spend so much on groceries if you are single. However, Tesco, Giant and Carrefour do sell others product such as electrical, garment, furniture and etc...By having a proper planning in advance, each first week of the month i am able to save at least RM80 for my spending. What to do? Have to save since all the price is shooting up due to inflation.   

here's mine:

rm100 petrol (car with 60L tank capacity & above can easily filled up rm100 when fuel warning appear )
rm100 groceries @ tesco/giant
rm100 jusco superstore (clothes)
rm100 topup (usually touch-n-go @ shell or just prepaid @ tesco)

for petrol is every RM50 block.
pump RM50 = cashback RM10
pump RM100 = cashback RM20 
pump RM99 = cashback RM10 
(read T&C for max monthly quota payout)

If you pump at Caltex, you will get another extra 5% making it a total of 25% (the highest cashback program for petrol)

tesco close at 12am on friday.
but yes, u can just delay a little time to go to cashier, and plan to swipe on saturday 0:05.
