Some say installing double shackle helps to reduce the bumpiness of your ride. I'm not sure but I plan to install soon.

I heard from some 4x4 dealers not recommended to install double shackles. Also need to maintain the double shackle. Mayb u can opt for changing the suspension to Rancho 9000

Oh btw, I recently changed my Tires from H/T (Dueler Bridestone) to A/T tires (Yokohama Geolander). I went to the 4x4 shop and the guy gave me a good deal for 16 inch tires. So not only did i changed my tires from H/T to A/T, i also changed a different rim. But he told me that the spare tires dun need to change so i kept my spare tire without changing it.

Originally my tires were 255/70R15 but now it is 265/70R16

I want to ask,

1. What is the difference i will feel from this change?
2. Is it ok to not change the spare tires, or suggested to change the spare tire as well?
3. Do i need to take note of any changes from the new tires?

Thx in advance

1. Difference is You will feel a bit more Macho brows.gif  Maybe a little more noise, but not much other difference. Geolander is a popular AT tyre, much like Bridgestone's Dueler AT.

2. Better to match your new set, just get some second hand ones will do. Your previous Overall Wheel Diameter is around 29 inches while your new ones are around 30.5inches. One thing for sure, speedometer will be 'off'. Check with a GPS on board and you should be able to gauge your actual speed against your speedo.

3. No need take note la, just drive. Minimal change in size so I don't think tyre will scrape mud guard (assuming your rim offset is not too drastic la).

Happy driving

I went and talk to the 4x4 dealer he told me even though i want to change the spare tire to 16 inch also cant, bcos the bottom part of the hilux cant fit the 16 inch spare tire unless i want to put it in the trunk.
I had to cut the front tire mud guard if not it will scrape the mudguard. Also had to do some rebalancing and add wheel ring as my steering wheel had some vibrations when car drive around 100km/h

!st thing when i got my hilux was to install alarm system, gps and bonnet lock. the rest like mods all come later. I think in Sarawak u better get spare tire lock and also solder ur back bumper as i heard ppl stealing it.
