I checked all 3 HDD manufacturer, WD, Seagate and Samsung.
It seems that WD has a much lower power requirement. and seagate only draw power from +12V rail. While the WD and Samsung draw from both +5V and +12V rail My PSU has plently of +5V rail but I doubt +12V has enough, because I think my 6600 overclocked edition(510MHz/1.1GHz) might draw a lot power from +12V rail

QUOTE(Eoma @ Jul 5 2006, 12:01 AM) Just to let everyone know (in case they didn't read today's Intech): Those with WD drives bought from March 2001 - 15 Feb 2006 can claim for free backup software from WD. Might be useful to some. I just applied for mine. They'll send a link via e-mail. http://www.wdc.com/settlement. Valid WD HDD serial number required. I would rather want them to give me a discount voucher so that the next time WD HDD i can the discount. Thats more practical.
