QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Apr 16 2006, 06:53 PM) Thanks for pointing that out.... i found one from Maxtor for my HDD QUOTE(youngkies @ Apr 17 2006, 09:47 AM) yayaya.. seagate rocks... i got a 120gb seagate used for two years liao.. from fitness drop from 100% to 42% but performance maintained at 100% (source from speedfan)... due to whole year non stop excessive default hd for bt.. hehe.. About this speedfan software, well, i try try to dl it after seeing ur post there, lol.BTW, under SMART, i run a in depth online analyst, and i get this QUOTE NOTE : your hard disk Power Cycle Count attribute current value (245) is below the normal range (247 - 253) reported for your specific hard disk model. Basically your hard disk was power cycled more times than the maximum number the average hard disk was. Power cycles put some stress on the hard disk mechanic. Sometimes power cycles can be caused by a loose hard disk power connector. Make sure it is properly fastened. The overall fitness for this drive is 90%. The overall performance for this drive is 90%. Indeed the power cycle is lower that the range.... anyway to fix this? or izzit important.... it says there it will put mechanic stress on the HDD |

QUOTE(super macgyver @ Oct 8 2006, 12:28 PM) QUOTE(samuel_lai @ Oct 8 2006, 12:37 PM) You have to limit SATA 2 hard disk to SATA 1 on the jumper. See the instuction on the disk or manual Oh... alright, thanks... Hmm, as for hard disk brand, I'm currently using Maxtor 80G, but its very noise. Lots of clicking noise when using. Also hear alot of bad experience about maxtor so thts why i'm considering either Seagate or WD |
