after few days as honor user....

i must say, it was impressive indeed in terms build quality....same par on htc build quality...u won't feel plasticky feel like most samsung devices....hence it would feel heavier than Iphone 4 (hell yeah i like solid feel)....
well done to huawei  thumbup.gif

Hardware wise,
yes, i believe many ppl eyeing what capable of single core 1.4Ghz compared to 1Ghz dual core...
fyi,it equipped Adreno 205 can do most of 3d games due to snapdragon procs compatibility.
(if you're hardcore gamer, get a sg S2)

Memory,
Honor comes with 1GB rom, 2GB internal, & 8GB swappable memory.
1GB rom are sufficient to install apps from market without hasle unlike 128MB or 256MB....

Battery 1930mah,
a single charged will enough to feed your 12 hour usage on data/wifi, video playback + some gaming session.
battery efficiency  thumbup.gif
oh yeah, its Li-Po battery  rclxms.gif

Speaker,
sound a bit lose compared htc crispy loudspeaker, still very loud.
however it can solved, tweaked through native 3rd party apps.

Display,
pixel sharpness are good enough to see small fonts,
color display i won't say is good due to normal TFT lcd display, eventually you will notice some color fade if u compare to amoled display. (my previous device HTC Desire Amoled does better in this part)

Camera,
8MP a letdown in my opinion, i'm expected more actually.
No touch focus, (Just auto focus on centre spot)
No manual iso adjustment,
Can't disable shutter sound itself (only way to does it, set to silent mode on phone)

Conclusion:
i pay 1k to buy this device,
i nvr put high hope on it since sell off my htc desire first  sad.gif
i just check through online only, not even check out the actual sample unit Honor on retails store.
(buy 1st, test later concept) risky sweat.gif
thats my opinion & review  sweat.gif
no regret.

ya, i got the same feel with the cam...feel like its 8MP cam is below my expectation...but generally it gt good specs n its external appearance is considered cool =D

So, when will the ics for honor out in d market???

I bump into a link for the Honor ICS (China Trial Version) update.
Except that there is no google service (google map, google market, google sync account and any other google related apps), the rest of the function works great, especially the face-recognize-unlock function for this version.

for those who r interested, u may try it out, esp the face recognition stuff =)

the link is http://www.sendspace.com/file/gy9uib

is this phone worth buying?
*
definitely worth it! it got both the quality n attractive market price. i'm using it now. =)

its cam n user experience is great for me. though i'm not a heavy gamer la

it's quite rare that it is lagged, n i guess this is important for almost ALL smartphone users =)
i like this part the most in fact, as recently i noticed a lot of complaints here n there abt samsung n htc smartphones. heard that those brands can be quite lagged when it comes to heavy users

then my next question wud be: why buy a more expensive phone to make urself fed up by it at the end? XD

Honor is not a bad choice after all, considering its moderate price n super long battery life, hehe

Added on March 22, 2012, 12:43 pmI’m happy to see that there are so many users of Huawei Honor here. I have been using my Honor for the past 2 months in fact. I thought there won’t be many users of this model in Malaysia in fact. Wow, it is lucky for me to bump into this forum and learn lots of info about Honor here. (though I’m not that active here la, keke.. I prefer to see others’ view usually)

I love the battery saving technology of Huawei Honor the best in fact. Honestly speaking, if we talk about specs, most smartphones compete fiercely and are more or less the same for their processor, ram, camera pixels etc. I think Huawei Honor really has made itself outstanding among the rest in my mind, as its long-living battery has made my life easier! Hehe. First, I don’t have to charge my smartphone for twice a day. (Pity those who have to charge their smartphones for at least twice a day. It’s so troublesome! Keke, no offence ya.) Second, I don’t have to worry about my phone usage when I am on the go, be it on LRT, bus, or friend’s car. I can VIRTUALLY play game and read e-novels non-stop for few hours, heeh…. I can still remember vividly that there was one time I play game on the long-journey bus from KL to Johor for 4-5 hours, and a Malay girl sitting beside me asked me what phone I’m using. I proudly told her it’s Huawei Honor with ICS! Well, the maximum battery life span for Honor according to my personal usage experience is around 3 days, on the condition that I do not use it for game and any app usage at all (I experimented with it once to use it for SMS and light phone calling only, as I wanna see its ‘real’ battery life).

Second, I love its cam. I’m quite a cam whore in fact, haha. So my demand for a phone’s cam is pretty high. Although Honor’s cam does not perform well when the external lighting is not good, it does surprisingly well on a nice sunny day! Since I would never go out when the weather is not good, I think it fulfills my basic need to have an awesome cam under the sunlight (or normal indoor lighting).

In short, I'm glad to have Honor as my 2nd smartphone! =)

Hello guys,

I just bought Huawei Honor yesterday at IMCC Mines 2. Default OS is Android ICS 4.03. One question.. does anybody know where can I get the Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 stock firmware so that I can revert back. I feel ICS is a bit heavy for Honor.

So I would like to have in hand the stock Gingerbread 2.3 stock rom and the ICS 4.03 in hand in time of needs to re-flash them incase something goes wrong.

Anybody have knowledge of where to get them? I would be very grateful, thx a lot!

Summary of the phone : Sometimes jerky with ICS 4.03, memory seems lower than only 342.1MB, maybe cache 128MB use some of it (not 512MB), internal storage 882MB (not 1GB), i noticed there is a 2GB internal SD Card which I don't know for what. Camera capture is good enough for me. Video recording seems okay too despite a scary review of it being jerky (maybe ICS fixed the issue). Battery longetivity still under testing. Overall.. good phone for the price.

Indeed, so far ICS for Honor is not yet released in Malaysia market yet. Wonder when would it be released.....

For Fast Boot, if it doesn't work that well, perhaps you have to clear some heavy unused apps to lighten ur phone ram =)
