Can root, but cannot install clockworkmod. Bootloader is also locked... so you are stucked with this firmware forever!

So this is the stable ICS? How do you root?

By saying stucked forever you mean can't even downgrade back to GB?

I have not been playing around with my phone and have been using the stock GB 2.3.6 (B865) for quite some time now. I'm now kinda bored with it as it lacks some features I would pretty much like to have also seeing that they are stopping further developments for Honor (True or False).

Also I saw some news about CM 10 for Honor? How is it going? This isn't the stable version yet i suppose and the camera function can't be used?

If so which is a better ROM to use? I would prefer a more stable less buggy ROM (stock or custom doesnt matter) which can give me sufficiently good features and require little updating and whatsoever. And of course long battery life.

BTW i tried going into recovery so that i can retrieve my stock recovery.img file just in case I want to revert back to stock GB but after flashing into the pink screen, my computer couldnt detect my device. Any advice?

Huawei Malaysia website just released new ICS ROM B929 few days ago. I've updated to this ROM.

So disappointed to find that this ROM has locked bootloader and locked pink screen.

I want to flash to MIUI but Im not stucked. ROM cant upgrade, cant downgrade, cant replace recovery.img, basically cant do anything.

Anyone got any idea?

Wondering if B865's pink screen is locked too?

Nope... not locked. Very easy to root. You dont need any tools or software. Just make a simple search on google and you will find it.

I downloaded the approved test version, Fast? yes! Performance? nice! BUT take up more internal memory space! Darn! I also notice that my default mp3 ringtones, notifications and alarm on my sd card is not noticeable?  rclxub.gif Trying to scan my songs on sd card using Music, doesn't pick it up, darn! What happen? I try moving to the free internal memory, also not working? I try another method using Zedge, yes! All "downloaded" music files from Zedge can be pick up. I tried moving my other music file to Zedge own folder, not working also??  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

I think you all play too much with custom rom  hmm.gif . My Honor was in Stock GB then later upgrade to Official Malaysian ICS, no problem since. Faster in speed and better camera function  biggrin.gif

I use the App Android System Info to find out the phone exact default ringtone location. For backup I just use Huawei own default backup before and after flash, works fine for me

Well conclusion for this ICS:-
i) More stable than previous one..Never did i encounter restart
ii) Indeed eat more ram (>_<)lll ...
iii) DUnno why my battery life seem shorter..lolz(Ps i bought a powerbank for it)

Few question here.

You guys said that B929 is faster? Compared with GB 2.3.6 B865 its faster? And how much is the free memory for this B929? Cause I'm using Chinese B919 and I find it a little bit slow when compared to GB 2.3.6 B865.

The battery life is shorter? How much shorter? sad.gif

mcsj, where's the default ringtone location at?

You moved back from B929? Care to share how you did it as some said you can't flash into other ROM.

I thought I figure it out the last time, apparently not. Its seems the ringtone has to go thru some kind of recognition process in order for the mp3 to be pick up by the phone. exp: thru Bluetooth or thru Zedge.

In my experience with the Malaysian Official ICS, apparently upgrading Honor is not suitable because it takes up too much extra space compare to GB 2.3.6. If I install over 95% in the internal memory the phone will slow down and goes haywired, like freezing, hanging and reboot. Eventhough I move most of my apps to external memory, its still cant handle the load. Once I free up the internal memory down to 80-85% then its becomes more usable.
*
If it takes up so much space would'nt it cause the phone to lag? How come you said it is fast and smooth?

What tool you used to root? I used 007root and I can't root. I thought I remember being able to root with this last time.
