Oh well.. back to GB now. Trying the B865 Malaysia version. If not good then back to the internal B866 version.

If ICS is really imcompatible for Honor then Huawei has some serious shitload of explaining to do if they dont release a stable official non beta rom soon! I even have the bloody official huawei advert brochure which boldly states : Huawei Honor - ICS Ready! =.=

I don't know is all the new stocks getting the beta version of 4.0.3 ICS or not. But my friend just bought new honor few days ago. It came with 4.0.3 ICS but there is no Google Play app and the camera image under low light condition has lots of noise.

Currently I have not yet seen a phone with good ICS implementation. All is still in beta release or with bugs. ICS is nice but Huawei definitely need to put more focus in getting it done properly before putting out the releases.

Haih, already got used to this buggy ics since march. Bought this phone when it was released, promised a ics upgrade. That's one of the main reason I bought it. But after almost 5 month, there is no sign of stable ics for the honor yet... damn dissapointing

I used ICS and found they are more nicer to GB but in the end the need for speed and stability overcomes. GB more stable, rarely app crashes and no auto reboot/hang so far. Where else the ICS frequent hang/auto reboot/app crashes. Its like Windows Vista/Me all over again LOL.

So... stick with Windows XP/7. Much more stable...

p/s : I mean GB... biggrin.gif

Tried the new ICS beta ROM for Malaysia and it was horrible. It's like living in hell for 2 days. It crashes every hour with ANY app, even the stock browser, and I did not have access to my computer, so couldn't downgrade it.

But the beta ROM felt really nice to use if it was more stable and not so laggy, because I was quite happy using it for the first few hours because there weren't many crashes and stuff. The ability to rearrange app icons in the application tray was a nice bonus, and it was much much more polished - Asthetically - then the GB ROM.

Do hope they can finally bring us the ICS rom as soon as possible.

If you really want to use ICS I would suggest using the B978 version. It is the most stable one I have tried. Not too many hang/crashes depending on what app you're using.

Oh tried it and didn't quite like it though, since when I tried pressing the home button while using some random app, it will bring me to the homescreen, turn black then bring me to the application tray, it wasn't quite visually appetizing. Maybe I will try it again later tongue.gif

Oh and is the B972 rom's touch screen sensitivity bad? Or is it just because of the stock screen protector?

I can't really tell about the touch screen. Feel's like Huawei Honor touch screen is a bit erratic.. sometimes its too sensitive and sometimes it just doesn't respond well.

Maybe my hand is too big... zzz

Or... maybe I need to get a bigger screen phone. Like 4.3 inch or 5 inch...

I think the ICS Malaysia Version is no longer beta? Since it doesn't say beta version. But lazy to upgrade since my B978 is pretty stable already.

GB is super stable right now. Zero problem. Very tempted to upgrade but choose to hold it for a while at least until next year

Users are talking about different versions. Does it also matter when using default GB, for example I have non rooted, 2.6.35-7-perf Kernel and B873? Or GB have also different builds as I have read different rooting options for GB.

Mmm, I am still using the B865 that comes with the phone. Frankly I was really tempted to upgrade to a later version but hold off the decision. I glad I did that because later on I was alot of complaint here and there regarding the newer rom version. My phone is still non-rooted. I don't want to void my 2 years warranty yet. I also read different rooting option for few different rom version. I was also tempted to do it but hold myself against it. If you are game enough to experiment, by all means go head icon_rolleyes.gif

Did anyone tried the non beta Malaysian ICS Rom yet?

Even though it is not stated as a beta version anymore, but I have this feeling that it was more of a typing error than a stable ICS rom hmm.gif

Mine is also factory default version. But this still makes me wondering, that why GB have different build versions? What this build version shows? The country based settings? Or something else?

However using Settings > About Phone > Online upgrade, no soft-, or firmware update are available. Also www.huaweidevice.com > support > 8860 search, shows only:

HUAWEI_U8860 ICS 4.0 Cambodia Demo version
2012-04-01 Downloads 258.11MB
open source-kernel-3.0.8-U8860-IcecreamSandwich
2012-02-13 Downloads 117.78MB
HUAWEI_U8860_Android_2.3_V100R001C00B866SP01_Normal

So I wondering what new ROM's are users here talking about?

And about warranty, I understood, that after rooting is possible also restore phone to the factory status, if yes, then warranty is still active. And usually no software issues are covered with warranty, so I think warranty is for hardware only, so this root & warranty issue is very strange.
