Wow, this phone replaces Galaxy W as the best-bang-for-buck-under-1k phone.  Higher camera MP count, higher screen reso, higher battery capacity, bigger screen, better design.

Does it have the annoying 3-tier memory thingie common in Samsung phones?

Don't worry bro, you can save your game & app directly to your ext. memory card... thumbup.gif

Just checking, no offense intended.

I am currently looking for an Android phone with a RM1.2k budget.

I'd like to know if Huawei's quality can be compared with those of Samsung, Nokia, etc.

You know, being a China brand, people tend to be sceptical about it. I understand that there would be quality products coming from China and I certainly do hope Huawei's products are one of them given the amazing price for its specs.

Im currently a HuaWei phone user. the quality of Huawei is definitely comparable to those famous big brands. Being had the good quality, the price is always lower than the others. The only lose part about Huawei is not well-known enough.
So, if you are looking for sth good with reasonable price, jz go for it!

Huawei is not a new company when it comes to telecommuncations industry.

QUOTE
In 2010, Huawei recorded revenues of US$28 billion.[11] Its products and services have been deployed in more than 140 countries and it currently serves 45 of the world's 50 largest telecoms operators....
Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, is the world's second-largest telecom equipment maker[58] and China’s largest telephone-network equipment maker.[59] Wiki

They are relatively new in producing Android devices but each subsequent models have been a steady improvement. They started with low-end Android phones and Honor is now their mid range phone. Ascend, the upcoming phone, should be a solid contender for the upper mid-range.

When you mention quality, are you talking about physical build/physical durability quality or hardware performance quality?

Thanks for the replies. smile.gif

I've checked with my father (he is a manufacturing supervisor of an American MNC that supplies chips to hundreds of companies including Huawei) and what my dad said was that Huawei has one of the best quality controls and requirements compared to other clients.

Seems like Huawei might even have a better build quality than more established competitors. brows.gif

after few days as honor user....

i must say, it was impressive indeed in terms build quality....same par on htc build quality...u won't feel plasticky feel like most samsung devices....hence it would feel heavier than Iphone 4 (hell yeah i like solid feel)....
well done to huawei thumbup.gif

Hardware wise,
yes, i believe many ppl eyeing what capable of single core 1.4Ghz compared to 1Ghz dual core...
fyi,it equipped Adreno 205 can do most of 3d games due to snapdragon procs compatibility.
(if you're hardcore gamer, get a sg S2)

Memory,
Honor comes with 1GB rom, 2GB internal, & 8GB swappable memory.
1GB rom are sufficient to install apps from market without hasle unlike 128MB or 256MB....

Battery 1930mah,
a single charged will enough to feed your 12 hour usage on data/wifi, video playback + some gaming session.
battery efficiency thumbup.gif
oh yeah, its Li-Po battery rclxms.gif

Speaker,
sound a bit lose compared htc crispy loudspeaker, still very loud.
however it can solved, tweaked through native 3rd party apps.

Display,
pixel sharpness are good enough to see small fonts,
color display i won't say is good due to normal TFT lcd display, eventually you will notice some color fade if u compare to amoled display. (my previous device HTC Desire Amoled does better in this part)

Camera,
8MP a letdown in my opinion, i'm expected more actually.
No touch focus, (Just auto focus on centre spot)
No manual iso adjustment,
Can't disable shutter sound itself (only way to does it, set to silent mode on phone)

Conclusion:
i pay 1k to buy this device,
i nvr put high hope on it since sell off my htc desire first sad.gif
i just check through online only, not even check out the actual sample unit Honor on retails store.
(buy 1st, test later concept) risky sweat.gif

thats my opinion & review sweat.gif
no regret.
