I would like to ask for opinion..about buying a new car. I'm interested in mercedes B-class~

The dilemma is whether i should go for the current model on market or should i wait for the new edition = 2012 merc B-class which might be launched in early 2012.

They are now offering discount(abt 25k if im not mistaken) for the current model..probably to attract buyers since they gonna launch the new model soon. is it worth buying? or should i wait for the latest edition?(of course wont get any discount )

whattt my new model was coming in 5mths and they didnt give me discount at all, said its not their policy. C&C. wait la, not worth buying after mid of the year as it is considered a 2011 car

i doubt the new B-class will be available around the same price with the current one, after i read the review from topgear...

think about the depreciation, depreciation confirm higher than the 25k saving, so no point, get new one

Well, I have the current B-180. All I can say is...dissapointing car for a Merc. Under-powered, stiff as hell and poor brakes make it the worst Benz I've ever driven. If given a second chance, wont get it at all....

So you may ask, since the car is hopeless, why did I buy it? Cause made a mistake of buying it without test driving...and a 30k++ discount was offered. Bought for RM180k++.

Get the CT200H. Much better car...IMHO.

why not get the b200 turbo from the grey importers? authorised dealers won't be bringing in the turbo ones. only the b180 1.6 n/a 116hp. mana cukup power for speed freaks..

same here, last year mom got it for 186k from the original 216k. no power, slow throttle response, awkward driving position, and the ride is not even comfy. only good thing is quietness at high speed and huge space.
so many better cars you can get at almost rm200k man..... but all the women just buy this car because they like the looks

But the funny thing for the B180..they put Potenza RE050A tires on...waffak...for a sheet slow car ....

i agree so much on the tires, i can't wait to swap it for some comfy tires, and see whether the ride can improve. i have michelin primacy HP in mind, how about you? mine is june 2010 covered 41k km. still got some thread.
also i have the idea of swapping with prefacelift owners with their 16".

how much does this cost? 200k? y do u want to buy an underpowered car with this kind of price? there are tonnes of choices for u like a VW golf or a Scirocco, although they are not mercs, but u get so much more for your money?

and (no offense), u buy a B-class people will think (i certainly would) because u can't afford a proper Merc. but when u buy a VW ppl will think "that's an expensive car" although it's a cheap car for the masses in other countries.

i'm right now looking for 2nd B class, as my second car.So far, best offer i got, RM129k, yr 2007...okey ka? Reason i want to buy bcoz it have a big space at the back. I dont really care about speed.

it's never meant for speed(unless the b200 t), but in terms of other criteria it disappoints me too.

if you want space, go for it, it is much more spacious at the back than C class, maybe even e class.

me neither. and its rich that you saddos are looking down on people who can afford a 200k car when you are still driving momma's car. try to get off milk and make some serious money before you put people down.

Added on October 27, 2011, 11:51 pmmy dear, you will not be getting the new b in early 2012 even if you are gottlieb daimler's great grandniece. its not even being sold in europe yet. they have to make the car for the euro markets before even canada and the US. you will prob see the new B in malaysia sometime in early 2013 or later. buying a car is a big deal. make sure you do proper research. dont rely on half arsed forums like these.

what tmh said is true, we made a booking in Nov 2010 for a compressor c class, we saw the new model C class from German website in January 2011, then we change our booking from compressor to new facelift c class, in Feb 2011, finally we only got our car in September 2011, a total of 11 months waiting time, long neck and frust mind.

Seriously, wait for the new one. It is a vastly improved car. The old one is considered to be quite rubbish, the new one should be decent. Lots of kit and generally improved.

These ..... importers all put ridiculous and stupid and unnecessary tyres onto the cars as soon as they are expensive. A Cross Touran doesn't need 235 wide 17 inchers. That makes the ride really uncomfortable (stiff car + super stiff tyres = ouch), new tyres are very expensive, performance isn't as good... Leave it to ah beng to put silly tyres onto their cars.

Just use smaller tyres, not as insanely wide, and the performance and comfort should improve a lot. Even if you stay with the same type.

Isn't the B class meant to be a small MPV? The Vaneo is history (thank god! And you thought the Kangoo is ugly!), so this is the only MPV from Merc you can get.

A Merc should be a bit premium. Better than a normal car. But the old B class... I doubt it. I'd rather buy the Touran and fit proper wheels on it. The interior is a bit so-so, but apart from that? Or the Ford S-Max... perhaps? I liked the big brother, the Galaxy, and I think I should like the S-Max even more then (sportier).

Newest car the better one...should be the improved version of its predecessor..

anyone letting go B180 pm me. but must be black color interior.. i dont mind with slow car. .
