A temporary Research Assistant is required for a research entitled "The Economic and Psychosocial Impact of Cardiovascular Disease on Families in Malaysia". This research is conducted by the Menzies Centre for Health Policy, University of Sydney, Australia.

The research is expected to resume in June 2009. Candidate will be required to interview patients using a set of questionnaire.

There are two vacancies for this position. Chosen candidate will either be placed at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) or at the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) centre in Petaling Jaya.

**Please take note that this is a temporary position.

Job Description:
1. Interviewing patients at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) and National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya
2. Translating research materials from BM/BI to Mandarin
3. Data-cleaning and data-entry
4. No selling is involved.
Job Requirements:
1. Diploma/Degree in Biomedical/Health/Community Health or any health-related disciplines.
2. College/university students studying in the above-mentioned areas are also invited to apply.
3. SPM A1 in English, at least A2 in BM or MUET Band 4 and above
4. Must be fluent in Malay, English and Mandarin (local dialect)
5. Friendly and talkative, persuasive without being too annoying, honest and hardworking
6. Able to work independently
7. Good command of Excel or SPSS
8. Able to start immediately
9. Preferably those staying near IJN (KL)/NASAM (Petaling Jaya) or have own vehicle.
Benefits:
1. Candidate will be paid according to every completed questionnaire. Each questionnaire will be paid RM10.
2. As there are a total of 500 patients, candidate can be expected to be paid up to RM5000.
3. The candidate can choose to work at their own pace provided that all questionnaires must be completed within TWO months. However they must comply with the opening times of IJN (Mon-Fri, 8-5pm) and NASAM (Mon-Fri, 9-5pm).
4. Reference letter will be provided at the end of service for future job reference.
5. Travelling expenses will be compensated accordingly.
