Hi my current stock tyres are 205/50/17. any recommendation on tires? I heard this spec a bit rare so they recommend me to go for 205/45/17. any comments and recommendation? Sorry first time tire buyer here

215/50/17 achilles atr sports. RM250 per piece. or 205/45/17 also gt same price. dirt cheap tires n surprisingly grippy on the road! i'm using them now. no issues! juz a bit noisy only. good rating for me compared with previous tires i use, falken 912(195/50/15), potenza's re002(225/45/17), ps3(195/50/15), hankook v12(195/50/15), turanza a33 (215/60/16), michelin xm2 (215/60/16)

seriously never used such value for money tires b4! didnt believe my frens until i tried it myself ==]

400bucks below u cant get ps3's or potenza's. sdrive also barely above. try achilles! lol. definately better than falkens or adrives. p.s i'm not an achilles salesman, just a satisfied user. lol

yes its abit expensive, wonder where u change ur tires?

not a good brand cause its indonesia tires? but performance of tires is another issue. n definately value for money. tire price for ur 16inch rims michelin's xm2 say 400bucks? turanza's 380? achilles saves so much yet u get so much from it...

but dont compare with ps3 or potenza or tires like those grades.. $$ also way way different. lol

haha. wet i never try. only dry. bad experience speeding in wet conditions. best tires also koyak.

i would rate xm2 as a medium performance tire. using 215/60/16 on my dad's camry. no doubt its super comfortable n quiet. but if youre lookin for a little edge on performance. for that price range i vote for goodyear assurance(but dunno 14' got anot) =]

Seen others complain that the side wall of Achilles tyres burst. Being sticky isn't everything... also fuel consumption, aquaplaning etc. is relevant.

Changed my tyres today. Ended up paying 200 each for the XM2, they said because the valves were included. Didn't want to fight with buddha (he looked exactly the same, just not as fat), and RM5 each more than quoted I can still manage. They changed it so fast that I couldn't watch... didn't see them doing balancing. If they have done, there should be weights on the rims, right?

Not really know about Michelin XM2 coz my friend used XM1 said not really good. He convert to Michelin PS3, loyal Michelin user. Now he very proud PS3 user. Michelin PS3 195/55/15 only RM255 at Hin Leong Klang. I think XM2 should be cheaper than that coz PS3 consider Michelin High End.

peri peri, where u change the tire? any idea how much was 185/60/14 michellin xm2?
