It's hard to say for now, as Phantom is a Froyo rom while CM7 based ROMs are Gingerbread. Performance depends on configuration the ROM applies, for example, Phantom (Froyo) doesn't have OpenGL ES 2 enabled by default, where any Gingerbread have support for it. Same as Gingerbread allows more optimization for ARM platform, especially ARM6+ where Froyo are still better then Enclair but outdated in terms of CPU management.

Although I have to admit Froyo ROMs such as Phantom, uses less memory and more stable then current Gingerbread custom ROMs.

Hehe, I'm sorry bro, CM7 doesn't have Ideos x5 source, even on backport ones.
Although I can compile the ROM according to it's hardware, it won't happen in near future. sad.gif

TS, is it because of the openGL ES 2 that scrolling in gingerbread is really smooth compared to froyo, even in phantom rom?.. i cant really stand the stuttering when scrolling when using froyo, thats why i'd rather stick with gb even tho it really sucks the juice

TS?
Gingerbread does have almost all of it's ui hw accelerated. So it is much smoother then froyo. Even its launcher are hw accelerated. About battery life, it does consume a little more, but after a week usage after battery stat eipe, u will notice a little improvements, juice defender are also recommended smile.gif

What is this kernel thing?
Never flashed my spice..so I don't know much tongue.gif
Does flashing to your custom ROM automatically update/change this kernel,or do I have to find and update it manually?Any guide or info about this would be great biggrin.gif

Every ROM update have it's own kernel built in and will be installed automatically upon flashing.
Kernel is a basic low level code/software that allows the very basic of OS operations, basically kernel is a software that sit between the OS itself and the hardware. Meaning both will not work if there are no kernel. This applies to every OS whether in phones or PC.

There are some custom kernels for Android, that are available on the net. For example SuperAOSP and Ubuntu #3 EA kernel. Although the process is simple enough by flashing via recovery mode, it is advice able to only flash kernels that are compatible with your device.

hmm..that's weird..they're supposed to be no csl logo on boot.. that could be caused from incomplete flash..try and reflash again with data and cache wipe..if that fails, try to flash 2.1 rom, stock or firetrap 2.1 and reflash mygingerb again..

Apparently no, sorry bro sad.gif
There are several cause for this, one is I don't know if the chipset are the same as the mi300 or not, as Mi300 uses MSM7x27 SURF. The optical trackpad driver are missing, as mi300 uses trackball, and other factors such as internal ROM installation space.

Agreed, some report on my battery usage for MyGingerB 1.0 (seriously, i need to renamed that on the next release, suggestion? tongue.gif )

It lasted 17hours before reaching the limit of 5% shut down. So yeah, it lasted the whole working day at least, typical, if not better then other smartphones with GB out there biggrin.gif

Owh about that, have you imported any keyboard with titanium backup?
I believe that with the new kernel (2.6.35.x) doesn't compatible with any keyboard calibration data, same have happened to other 2.3.7 based rom on other phones sad.gif .
The best way would be wipe data, cache and dalvik without reflashing, and walla the touch is working again(it happened to me also sweat.gif ).

Be sure to not import any data from any keyboard app, or any app that included hardware control permission.

It seems that there are some leftover data after flash. Try and boot into recovery and wipe /data, cache and dalvik (in the advance menu), if again failed, try and reflash with wiping all the above before flashing.

The 2.6.35.x kernel is giving problems post installation for some device, randomly, sad.gif
Since most of other Gingerbread rom using the 2.6.32.x, which is still a froyo kernel, most hardware data (calibration and such) will have problem.

Thanks for the feedback bro biggrin.gif will include fix on next release (stable)

gingerbread's UI is fully hw accelerated right? but why is the 3d game performance still not that good compared to froyo? is it possible to tweak it to match froyo 3d game performance.. ive tried chainfire3d but still cant get it to be smooth especially 3d racing game like raging thunder

p/s: if u change ur rom name to something that include 1malaysia najib will give u a job for sure, hahahahaha...

Gingerbread reacts to hardware differently then Froyo, again, some games, most of it currently are optimized for Froyo. While this is not noticeable in high end hardware, low to mid range phone hardware do notice it, like our mi300 for example. Nothing can be done except to wait for Google to fix this. Even the kernel's wakelock issue in Gingerbread haven't been solve officially. Most of the fix are from open source developers in xda-dev.
We also have to wait for Qualcomm to release a better driver for MSM7x27's Adreno 200.

In a nut shell, Gingerbread UI is silky smooth because it is optimized for Gingerbread, same as Gingerbread launcher port to froyo will not work smooth because the lack of HW accelerated and are not optimized for Froyo.

so, do i've to go back to stock rom b4 flashing to this rom?
*
For ppl who have touchscreen issue, try and flash this hotfix, the hotfix will be included in stable release later on, but since there'e much to do with it, I'll uploaded the kernel with touch driver fix (seems I messed it up from compiling process sweat.gif sorry guys) download it here

Flash it with recovery mode, be sure to wipe data, cache, dalvik and battery stat. A must for new Gingerbread kernel.

QUOTE(miloy2k @ Oct 4 2011, 01:24 PM)
hi TS, can you make an .nbo version for the firmware?
*
Currently not possible bro sad.gif
There's a lot of work to do if i want to convert the rom to nb0.
Flashing via recovery are more safer then SUT (nb0 flash)

Although I will try to make on as a backup later on smile.gif

Hm, sorry to hear that bro sad.gif
Did you install the Google app after first boot or before first boot?
Can you try below real quick..tell me the result.

Try flashing the google apps before first boot, meaning, in recovery mode, after flashing the ROM, then immediately flash the google apps zip file, before reboot that is. If that fixes it, I'll make a quick fix for it later on.

IF you have flash the google apps zip file before first boot, then I will also make a quick fix for it.

thanks bro biggrin.gif

How about not flashing google apps at all.
Well, I've uploaded a fix, seems like the SetupWizard.apk are conflicting when there's no google app framework installed. I've replaced it with default provision.apk as default first boot, hopefully that will fix the issue.. Check the OP for download links.
Sorry for the inconvenience bro sad.gif

Owh ya, forgot to mentioned it in the release notes.
The 2.6.35.13 stock CM kernel does have problem, including the touch screen module problem on first boot. So I used stable 2.6.32.x one as a temporary replacement. Users now can also use any other kernel out there for the z71 variant without any problem now.
I haven't checked out the 2.6.35.11 by edgar (thank ralph_d for pointing that out) but you can try it biggrin.gif

You can also flash the tweaked stock CM7 2.6.35.11 from the mygingerb 1.0.1 now since the touchscreen issue are affecting first boot process only.

I'm currently developing my own kernel for this ROM, but that will take a while.

Please tell me. Wifi signal in these rom are strong as froyo 2.2 rom.
Most of 2.3.x rom wifi is weak (don't catch wifi quickly and signal is very weak.
Is this rom different with another 2.3.x rom ?

PS: i am using phantom sky froyo rom.

Hi All,

I've been using FROYO Phantom Sky Fish quite some times. It's a stable ROM but I believe it is time to move on to GINGER BREAD since all LG, Samsung, HTC, etc already on 2.3 and I heard alot user commented 2.3 improve alot on smoothness UI.

May i know this new MY GingerB ROM have inherit some of the features from Phantom Such as

1) Can support 32MB java heap size
2) A2SD = which allow auto mount to ext3 mount point created on SD CARD. This is a cool features can allow us install APP on the fly without use move to SD.

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Yes, i agree. 2.3 gingerbread have smoothness UI. I Tried some 2.3 custom rom from cyanogenmod kernel. But all of them have problem with wifi as i say above.
So i hope angelictears can mod a custom rom to fix that biggrin.gif.

I've stated it as a bug, like in the OP, I've said that you can delete the /system/bin/su file either from adb, or the ROM zip, before flashing the rom that is. Installing Su via recovery is also ok biggrin.gif

I've tested and the Wifi signal is great, I've tweaked the fastauth code so it will reconnect to remembered network as fast as Froyo rom, if not better. The mygingerb is also optimized for Malaysian mobile network such as DiGi, Maxis and Celcom. Meaning that the signal will not fall below 3 bar in city area smile.gif

MyGingerB are set to use 32mb as Java heap size as default, and can go as much as 48mb if users want to.
As far as App2EXT, the Rom does not, while this rom, same as any other Cyanogenmod based rom, will support App2SD, but not on partition. It also support automatic app moving based on your remaining memory that are free. Notification are also enabled to notify users on which app to move and which you won't. Although advance users can install script enabling App2EXT.

You can always use S2E (Simple2Ext), you can find it in the market, or click here
Or you can use darktremor's script found here, although some report mixed result. here
I recommend a full backup in case anything happen
I do recommend class 4 SD card or above.
As for the support, I will eventually implemented the App2EXT script on the next release. biggrin.gif

Hmm, can you access the recovery mode again? If yes, try reflash the ROM, be sure to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache if you haven't

If you cannot access recovery(which is seldom as mygingerb flashes recovery as precaution), you can always use adb / fastboot to flash a recovery boot img, and boot back to recovery.
The simplest way is to flash any 2.1 (stock or firetrap[recommended as it is pre-root] ) and boot to recovery to attempt reflashing. Again with data, cache and dalvik wipe.

Good luck bro biggrin.gif

Thanks for the suggestion bro biggrin.gif
Will include all in the upcoming 1.0.3, for now, still finishing the custom kernel for this rom, at the same time finishing my college's assignment sad.gif
Anyway, there will be moderate progress from now on, bear with me. smile.gif

Hey, help spread the word to other mi300 users, or even consider donating smile.gif sweat.gif
It will mean a lot bro, thanks in advance and for the suggestion bro, forgot about the adblocker smile.gif

Thanks for the feedbacks guys.

1.0.3 stable is on the way promising more stable experience for those who planned to stay on one (latest) android experience for everyday usage. (And yes google apps are included)

1.0.3 (coming soon) will feature :

- Ad block, (some might debate on this as disabling ad are wrong partially)
- Featuring SuperAOSP 8.6 AW kernel (better battery life)
- GPS server asia.pool.ntp.org set by default (as there are users from thailand and other SEA countries)
- Better RAM management script included
- Faster GPS lock in, balanced between speed and accuracy
- minor stability fixes.
- more to come. smile.gif

- more to come. smile.gif

i'd like to try your Custom ROM. my question is...does it support EXT4 File System?

coz when i convert my EXT3 FS to EXT4 with Ed Ubuntu Kernel # 3 the SD-EXT Partition cannot be mounted.

the Overclocking features with ED Kernel # 3 is the same with CML Fix #6 is very remarkable Quadrant Scores compare with PJ Kernel.

if i set and overclock PJ Kernel to 1.2GHz i can only get 3K plus Quadrant Score.

but if i use CML and ED Kernel overclock to 787 MHz i can go as high 4K plus Quadrant Score.

what i really like with PJ Kernel is...it can recognize my EXT4 Partition but the overclocking features is not that good even if i set it as high as 1.2GHZ.

Thank you very much! and More Power To You!

is your Rom MYGingerB from the latest Cyanogen Stable Build or from the latest nightly build 228?

My Rom does support EXT4 by default, but the support depends on the kernel setting, most modern kernel does support EXT4, for example Edgar's Ubuntu #3 (Same used in CM7 EAv6) , SuperAOSP and etc. You can see which kernel suits you best with mygingerb. Note that 1.0.3 uses SuperAOSP as default kernel.

As for the 2nd question, Mygingerb are based on the latest CM7.1.0 source code (not sure if the code are stable or nightly), from the Cyanogenmod z71 github. Coded and Compiled from a ubuntu 10.10 32bit environment with eclipse (with Java Development Kit 6) as IDE.

For users who don't want full format, you can do flashing without wiping data, but cache and dalvik cache wipe is a must, optionally battery stat wipe are also recommended. Note that I will not guarantee the stability and/or instability of the rom installing it without data wipe.

The best way to install it is to back up all important apps with titanium backup and flash mygingerb via recovery mode and wipe data (factory reset), wipe cache and dalvik cache wipe , then restore your via titanium backup.

Ah, Edgar ubuntu #3 kernel does perform slightly slower in Quadrant benchmark, try overclock it a bit, 680+mhz does ok imo.
I myself using SuperAOSP 8.6 now for better performance, better overclock-to-performance gain ratio and battery.
But, I can say that overall usage experience on both kernel are not that different. Almost both of them give identical performance in UI and games. So yeah, aside from benchmark, try each kernel for everyday usage.

I can't be sure on how kernel reacts with my ROM, as both SuperAOSP and Ubuntu #3 are not develop by me.
Althoug hthe 987 score in your quadrant are good enough for everyday usage, when I used Ubuntu #3 recently, I got an average score of 968 in quadrant, that's why I convert to SuperAOSP, as you can see below

MyGingerB CellPatch release plan next week.
MyGingerB CellPatch is basically a patch, where users can update the core of MyGingerB ROM without reflash/reformat/wipe. So user can enjoy updates without even need to reflash and loose data. More info on the dev blog.

MyGingerB CellPatch1 :
- Increase internet throughput speed
- Hardware accelerated UI/Video
- EXT4 performance increase
- Smoother animation
- Overall multitasking management core revamp
- and more to come smile.gif

Added on October 21, 2011, 12:02 pmOwh and tip of the day,
Use No Frills CPU for better control. After installing, set minimum CPU clock to 480MHz to prevent music stuttering. Also set I/O scheduler to "noop" instead of deadline, SD card speed boost as easy as that smile.gif

Owh, try and disable USB debugging under Setting -> Application -> Development
Most ROM have problem when trying to mount sd card when USB debugging is enabled.
The space limit depends on what launcher you used, mi300 usually have a limited space of 4x4 for home screen widgets.

Thanks for the feedback of the camera bro smile.gif Will look into it later on.

@angelictears wanna make ice cream sandwich when it was available? jz saw the system req, think u cn handle it?

QUOTE
ICS will be a much larger release than any previous Android release. That means that it will also put a much bigger strain on the machines that people use to compile it. As a rule of thumb, everything about ICS in AOSP will be about twice as large as it was for Gingerbread.

Here are some preliminary numbers. Final numbers will probably be a bit different, but those should be a reasonable first-order
approximation. Of course, your mileage may vary.
6GB of download.
25GB disk space to do a single build.
80GB disk space to build all AOSP configs at the same time.
16GB RAM recommended, more preferred, anything less will measurably
benefit from using an SSD.
5+ hours of CPU time for a single build, 25+ minutes of wall time, as
measured on my workstation (dual-E5620 i.e. 2x quad-core 2.4GHz HT,
with 24GB of RAM, no SSD).

Naturally, if you plan to work on multiple branches (e.g. ICS release, ICS development branch and AOSP master branch), you need to plan for disk space accordingly, and you could easily end up using 250+GB.

I just read it...
Yeah, I think I'm gonna need a new hard drive for that. sad.gif
My current Mygingerb takes 16GB from my 20GB ubuntu partition, from a total of 80GB of my laptop HDD, lol.
My desktop also filled with other project, even that have only 30GB left..hmm.. Hope I'm going to have enough funding for a new 500GB hard drive soon enough.

first of all, congrat on ur release, finally rom other than bakpia, firetrap,cm(although ur base on cm),and superosr was release smile.gif
actually i kinda wanted something new 4 my fone, since i see ur comment from boston,i cant wait to try ur rom and now its in.
basically,ur rom quite simple with stock launcher, juz like i wanted, but a lil bit annoy by market download.can u fix it?other than that it was marvellous, thanks 4 the release.anyway, juz wanna ask, what is this cellpatch?is it necessary?

Currently my fone running on ur rom with 2.6.32.9 EA# ubuntu kernel.liquidity quite ok.wifi still on test and orientation is ok.keep up the good work.

Added on October 23, 2011, 1:36 ami will keep follow up ur update from now on.so dont forget to release some new update wink.gif gotta go back to boston to help noob in flashing.

Added on October 23, 2011, 1:42 am@yuchwern
run the sutlr setup and while the setup running go to program files and find the folder that contain the nbo files,i forget the name of the folder but u will find it quite easy as the setup only create a temporary file in program files, copy the nbo while the setup is running as when the setup finished, the nbo will dissapear

Added on October 23, 2011, 1:57 amhi again.sorry to bother but bout the 'cannot connect to camera' problem is a hardware error.not really sure, still on investigation.mi300 fone hav a temperature problem.if ur play games or activate the wifi for a long time, make sure ur fone doesnt overheat coz it will effect the sensitivity of the camera.
juz cool down ur fone or reboot fix the camera cannot connect problem.

hi angelictears.i m terry from boston.as promised, any report bout ur rom problem will be published here by me wink.gif
first of all, congrat on ur release, finally rom other than bakpia, firetrap,cm(although ur base on cm),and superosr was release smile.gif
actually i kinda wanted something new 4 my fone, since i see ur comment from boston,i cant wait to try ur rom and now its in.
basically,ur rom quite simple with stock launcher, juz like i wanted, but a lil bit annoy by market download.can u fix it?other than that it was marvellous, thanks 4 the release.anyway, juz wanna ask, what is this cellpatch?is it necessary?

Currently my fone running on ur rom with 2.6.32.9 EA# ubuntu kernel.liquidity quite ok.wifi still on test and orientation is ok.keep up the good work.

Added on October 23, 2011, 1:36 ami will keep follow up ur update from now on.so dont forget to release some new update wink.gif gotta go back to boston to help noob in flashing.

once again,thanks 4 the release

*
Thanks for the feedback bro biggrin.gif
I will include a fix later on. However I noticed that the market problem occurs seldom over time and seems that it is often occurs on the first week from the date you flashed the ROM. I think there's a problem with the Google market sync.

CellPatch is basically a patch/update. Much like a PC software for example, users can patch/update the ROM without wiping or data lose. Although CellPatch will not update any part of the Kernel.
It work basically the same as flashing a new kernel, no data wipe what so ever, but instead of kernel, it update core script and even settings to provide fixes and tweaks.

hi, great ROM, the only thing I'm missing is the front key wakeup functionality. are you planning to add this option?
*
It's already there smile.gif
Go to Setting -> Cyanogenmod Setting -> Input -> Trakeball wake smile.gif
Most of the setting that you will need can be found at Setting -> Cyanogenmod Setting.

hmm, not sure about that.. I always thought that doing data wipe (wiping the /data partition), dalvik cache wipe (dalvik-cache partition/file) and battery stat wipe does erase all user data. Although some ROM flash script (*.zip file) does contain another wipe, the EXT / SD-EXT wipe which wipe all the contents of the EXT partition for app. That's much about it I guess.

Hmm, currently MyGingerB does not support the feature, and no plans to add the feature yet as I am currently developing most of the core code for stability. If all of that are finished then I will add some minor tweaks such as call key wake. Other then that I am getting ready for Ice cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), wish I had some fundings to buy a new HDD. sad.gif

Added on October 24, 2011, 12:05 amFor an update.
MYgingerB had its first review at www.ubiquitense.com. visit here for details.
And MyGingerB already have 346 activation for the past 7 days, thanks for the support guys biggrin.gif

Go to Settings -> Call Setting and check "Always use proximity"
Also try and uncheck "Keep screen awake" if any. That should solve the issue smile.gif

First you need to fix SD permission via ROM manager, then you can use either S2E or link2SD, i recommend link2SD as it allows u to choose which app to move to SD ext partition. Also you can use swapper 2 for swap, you can either use partition for swap or even a "file" similar to pagefile.sys in windows.

I'm facing the same problem too. Reflashed from Phantom Sky Rev v1 back to 2.1, then using Clockworkmod Recovery, clean/wipe everything and flash to MyGingerB. Now got orientation problem when in 90 and 270 degree (it will turn the other way round). This happen also when using camera. If I take photo with my phone in potrait position, it will be upsidedown when viewing in landscape position and vice versa. Anyway to fix this?

Also, if i use the Ubuntu kernal, will it save on the battery juice?

Do you have a Maybank account so that I can donate some "small" fee to support your work? Hope you don't mind. tongue.gif

hmm, it might be kernel problem, you can try flashing ubuntu kernel and see if the problem persist, MYGingerB support any kernel for z71 variant out there so ubuntu kernel by edgar will also be supported, and with better battery life some reported. smile.gif

Thank you bro, any support are mostly welcome smile.gif Although I am sorry to say that I have no maybank account, only CIMB and paypal. You could donate via paypal, its much more easier, and safer smile.gif

Wifi problem are mostly caused by kernel, have you tried flashing other kernel and see if it fixes the problem? I've tried both SuperAOSP and Edgar ubuntu kernel (from CM7 V6), ubuntu kernel does provide better wifi stability I believe.

hi and thanks to angelictears wink.gif
juz 4 info, been using this rom for a while, but never got problem like u guys say,are u all sure u flash this rom properly?

bout the camera, eventhough rom or apps support zooming, clearly mi300 only has webcam,so zooming is not recommended(confirmed by csl and spice)

bout the wifi,if u guys use it while charging( not recommended) mi300 will got a problem with wifi.but if u're a extreme wifi user, switching from AOSP to ubuntu is the solution.

bout the kernel,i believe AOSP allow overclock up to 800 mhz,but considering mi300, overclock over 700 is far than more for an extreme user.so if u treasure ur fone, think b4 overclocking.

bout the orientation or problem right after flashing, try flash ur rom from cm7.1 stable(see boston mania),everytime i try flash from phantom or stock rom.problems will occur with this rom.and dont forget to reset, clear dalvik cache and clear cache partition b4 flashing, and of course battery stat.using kernel from cm eav 6 kernel also recommended.

all i'm saying here is juz 4 info,no offense to anyone.i been using at least 6 different roms with record of 60 times flashing/updating roms(especially cm mod),problem only occur if u guys mess up while flashing.so please read carefully b4 flashing, and 4 angelictears, please give a complete guide here on how to flash ur rom starting from stock rom and modified rom.

anyway thanks again for ur wonderful rom,i been searching for a lite rom like urs for my mi300.keep up ur work and i ll be cheering on u

I will include a full documentation later on at the development blog, I think there's not enough space for the all the "how to" and troubleshooting in forum post. If I got time, I'll set up a wiki about this project later on also.

Hmm, not yet, but I read that there's a problem about the kernel over at AndroidPT, and shorter battery life, I'm currently waiting for any stable AOSP 2.6.35.x kernel out there for z71 variant. I have also have the source code for the kernel, but I have no enough space for compiling the kernel right now, MYgingerB Source + Compiling easily reach 20GB now on my 80GB HDD.. saving up for a new HDD now sad.gif

Hmm... I think maybe have to flash to cm7.1 stable and see whether all the problem will solve. Can I flash directly to cm7.1 stable or do i need to flash back to 2.1 rom first?

currently on EA#11 Kernel. At first got touch screen problem. Then phone auto shut down (I use my phone as alarm clock so this morning no alarm. luckily still able to wake up for appointment). Now after reboot touch screen no problem, orientation problem still not solve, trackball wake up sometime can sometime cannot. Wifi no problem. GPS can use but need to use GPS fix to login first.

I've been working on it for several weeks now, but still, with limited resources, I can't do much, although I will try my best. In theory it can work, how ever not all devices are the same, even with the same digitizer, the controller are different as far as I know, although I could be wrong. I will look into it some more smile.gif Thanks for the share bro biggrin.gif

It is easy enough to start cooking your own ROM with a few of good online ROM kitchen out there, although if you are into compiling from source code (hardest method to cook a ROM), you can start from reading the Cyanogenmod wiki here. Do also note that compiling kernel is a different project, you can read it here.

Note that you will need at least basic java and C programming language, a stable Linux working box (Ubuntu recommended) on either Virtual Machine (such as VirtualBox) or on 2nd partition (you will need windows), although I do recommend installing your linux box on 2nd partition, saves more time when compiling, you'll also need Eclipse IDE with JDK 6 installed. Do note that source code for kernel and the ROM itself can easily reach 17GB in total, with 3 - 4 GB of initial download when setting up your repo, That doesn't include the extra 4GB of space when compiling the ROM.

I also recommend you to learn more about recovery mode installation script, APK structure and even the basic in init.d script (linux basics) for proper android setting that you'll need for your ROM, Owh, basic photoshop can also help you with resource manipulation, such as theming/skinning your ROM

Hope to see you developing your own ROM soon biggrin.gif Wish for the best bro smile.gif

Wow did not expect you'd reply me with that detailed explanation. Thanks! biggrin.gif i have all that at my disposal but the thing is i just need a kick start from someone XP.

I am veeery interested in android development be it from app dev or OS dev itself but did not have the reason to up until now where i got 2 android devices (viewpad 10s and our beloved mi300 hehe) that needs tweaking in the kernel level so that the hardware can be fully utilized.

I envy your dedication and your time lol.

thanks again ;P

Its ok that u have the passion to developing on android, as its the most fast growing platform to date..ask me anything and will try to answer the best I can..

Hehe, actually as a student, my time isn't that free, its chaotic actually, plus I have limited resource to begin with. Still, I love what I do, it keeps me at bay from thinking all my personal problem, and at leaat with donations online, I can help a bit with my daily expendature.. smile.gif
So there,s nothing to envy really smile.gif

Just a question, I need to re-flash back to stock again because I couldn't connect to network, but SUT doesn't recognize my phone any longer and says not connected. Any idea how to proceed from here?

Thanks biggrin.gif

Hmm, if you put the phone in download mode (End call + Vol up + power), and you have the necessary driver for your pc, then SUTLR will automatically detect your phone. I just tested with my phone just now, and SUTLR can detect my phone. Try to connect the phone before/after running SUTLR, also make sure SUTLR running as admin.

You can try, currently the CellPatch are only proven to work with MYGingerBread ROMs only. Although you can try, be sure to wipe cache and dalvik. In theory it should be fine, if not, make a backup and flash to stock then to MYGingerBread. smile.gif

Hmm, it might be a kernel problem with the Super AOSP, if you're up for some testing, try to wipe data while reflashing the ROM, and/or you can try other kernel such as EA Ubuntu #20 by edgar. I can't confirm if the ROM can be updated from other ROM such as the APt. For the google account, try reflashing with data wipe.

I tested twice and not having the problem, try rebooting while still connecting to you pc. If it's not work, try and reflash with data wipe. Sorry for the inconvenience sad.gif

Is the uncher moved to sd card? If yes then move it back to internal or fix sd permission via rom manager.. try to enable lock launcher in memory in settings -> cm settings -> performance. If all fails iy might be launcher bug.

The wallpaper can be copied from the 1.0.3 launcher2.apk. or you can just google for nexus s default wallpaper.

You can by flashing any kernel that you can find until it produce good result. Thanks to terry for the workround. It seem that most users have good result by flashing ubuntu #3 and #20. Some users have no toblem using superAOSP which is the mygingerbread gaia default kernel

i will try ur lil project, but answer this first if u fine with it.

are u malaysian? i juz wanna know,no offense bro smile.gif

giv u feedback later but try to answer my question.

one more question.
why 2.2.3? i prefer more on 2.3 but i will try ur rom.please list out kernel that can adapt ur rom as i dont wanna brick my second mi300 fone.

Added on November 5, 2011, 2:47 am@zlik98
u can try flash but i think anything happen will not be cover by angelictears wink.gif
@GreenJellyBean
its too easy to find gmaps if u dont find it on market.juz google it smile.gif
@kidz
try other kernel like ubuntu#3, 2.6.32.9 edgar#6,11,20, aosp 2version (get it on boston mania)
or 2.6.35.11 and see what fit ur fone.
@all
any problem occur when using this rom can be fix by changing kernel,it seem that some kernel fits some version of fone,so try it one by one as angelictears already done a great job of creating GAIA for us.Spare him some time to rest and do a small research on this.

no offense from me, thank you

Added on November 5, 2011, 2:53 am@harriss
there is nothing to compare as my result on kernel differ for different version on z71 variant + all clone.
if u wanna result.juz use 2.6.35.11 v of kernel as that kernel originally optimize for 1ghz device.AOSP was the original and most stable for GAIA.
