I'm just a newbie when it comes to photography but was really honoured to be given an opportunity to snap and dine in the recent opening of MIGF 2011. As some of you might know, food photography has been my all-time favourite photography style but I'm still a newbie la.

Sharing some of the shots which I have processed recently. More to come later.

I was a bit late to the event and hence I didn't have much opportunity to shoot (as a media) before the crowd came in. Additionally, the challenging lighting made my life more miserable that night. Nonetheless, this is really a good learning platform and I don't mind attending again next year!

How you make your light setting? is it use your one unit flash 580EX only?

Yes, with my only 580EXII.
I bounced it to my diffuser most of the time.
However, I shot in RAW so it is easier to adjust the exposure later.

No need to drool, once chik chak one dish then I will eat.

You don't need that for your home cooked food.
I usually don't use diffuser when I snap normal food shots.
I was forced to use because the ceiling was quite high, so I need something to bounce on.

Updated with the 10th photo. I think that basically marks the last shot of this album. I took quite a lot of photos but it seems only these 10 are presentable.

The others I haven't really looked into them yet. Will do that, very soon!

Actually all these shots were underexposed as the lighting was really bad.
Thank God, I shot in RAW hence having the flexibility to adjust the exposure during PP.
I guess I messed up during PP? But it looks quite OK on my IPS screen.

Thanks but as replied via PM:

1) I'm not a bro.
2) Yes, with speedlite but the lighting condition for this event was rather bad so speedlite didn't help much. So I shot in RAW and adjusted the exposure when I did my post processing.

Deserve another re visit.
