After watch the game yesterday. It doesn't look so derby game. Everton was down one man. We didnt push very hard either. I agree we were very slow, but surprisingly everton also not pushing hard. After gerrard and belamy in, i see some fast pace passing one to one. But I just can't find it why our team doesn't preform like last season. During end of the season,  we are banging goals around, we are moving past pace.

Our new team still need time to gel..hoepfully by mid season, our team chemistry is excellent.

Just look at the teams they have played so far. They wont be able to keep by christmas when they have played all the big teams.
The fixture list has been pretty kind to them.No chelsea,mc,manu, spurs,us and stoke at britannia.
*
Yups..correct..their early fixtures have been relatively easy..only facing arsenal in their first game..

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Oct 5 2011, 07:36 PM)
Suarez is being realistic there. Nothing wrong. Even our own owner said the realistic target is to get back into top four this season.Though I must question the need of saying it in public.Hmm.....

Anyway, I cant pretend i m stunned by the idea of starting Carrol in the match. First and foremost, he hit a goal last game bt that itself doesnt guarantee a starting berth in the team. Plus, his immobality and lack of willingness to work for the team makes it a liability to the team.... More like 10men on field than 11, just like most of us said in the last game. I would certainly prefer Bellamy to start the game. He has shown in previous few games that he managed to change our game to next level whenever he came on. His pace and experience will play a vital part for us in such an important match.Let's not forget, he got workrate as good as Suarez, if not better than Kuyt. So, I hope I can see lineup like this...

Reina

Kelly---Carra---Skrtel----Enrique

Kuyt---Lucas---Gerrard---Downing

-----------Bellamy----------------

-----------Suarez----------------
I hope KD doesnt make a bold decision by fielding Henderson in such an important game especially when the mancs are in great form. Henderson and Carrol can come off the bench but pls, stay away from starting lineup. Not that I m not being supportive here, it's just that I m being rational and realistic that there are better options upfront for us than these 2.
*
in my opinion, Gerrard cannot start as he is still recovering and didn't have match fitness..moreover, this is a rough n fast-paced game..for me, adam will start and gerrard will come in the second half..

QUOTE(markblurberry @ Oct 25 2011, 11:29 PM)
well, i personally think carroll is under pressure now...there is no running away..with such huge price tag and for one so young @ 23 correct me if i m wrong, the burden is tremendous, he is afterall the most expensive Brit player atm....i think the least we fans can do is support him..still remember what a monster of a player he was @ newcastle, if he brings that to liverpool, spell disaster for other team...he is a defender's nightmare! At least i think he is better than our other bigger strikers i.e heskey - for his size, heskey is pretty lame, not enuf body strenght to held off defenders...and never seem to be able to win headers against other defenders....P. Crouch, do i have to say more....well price tag is an issue with carroll, but why justify 30mil price tag in the first place..obviously because of the potential he shows, i think he is good, even scored on his debut with england...like it or not, money already changed hand, he wears the RED shirt..if KK decide to sell, so be it...in the meantime, i just have to wait until carroll becomes a real "goal-threat" or even better....gigantic goal scoring machine!
*
yups..agree with you..i believe its only a matter of time before he find his form, as he did when he was at newcastle..

btw, he's still 22 now (born 1989)..

man, for some reason i think our back four needs a complete overhaul.
we already have a defensive coach in steve clark. but what's wrong?
*
Bro..we dont need complete overhaul of the back four. we performed well with enrique on the left, kelly on the right and carra and agger at center. what we need is agger to stays fit and train carra's protege which we already have in Coates before the man himself retires..

what we need to improve is our winger. all this while, we don have a fast and reliable winger since downing came in but it seems he is not living to his par yet compare his days in aston villa.
*
yups..correct..we need skillful and pacy winger..someone who can dribble and do tricks and get the ball from falnks into penalty box..i like to see Robben-type winger (bar his injury proneness of course) to be in our team..

Some people are so obssessed with our club that our captain injury news is posted faster there than here

I think kenny needs to drop downing. It worked for henderson earlier when he was dropped.

Anyone have any idea on aurelio?is that guy even alive doh.gif
*
Haha..let them be..

im afraid that our captain will have a lengthy spell due to the injury..hopefully not..

we need him as tough match are coming against chelsea and city..

to be honest, i dont see anyone of our current crops that can replace stevie g..not yet at the moment..
but hopefully henderson and jonjo can step up their game and eventually becomes the heart of liverpool midfield...

interesting stats on our match vs WBA from liverpoolfc.tv:

Daniel Agger won 90 per cent of his 'duels' - more than any of his teammates.

All our defenders made between 48 and 54 passes. Martin Skrtel was the most accurate with 91.7 per cent finding its target. The Slovak also played the highest percentage of long passes among his rearguard colleagues.

In midfield Lucas Leiva played the most passes with 59 and was also the most accurate on 81.4 per cent. 11.9 per cent of his efforts were long passes - again more than any of his midfield pals.

Carroll had seven shots, all from inside the box. Three were on target. Suarez had five shots, four of which were executed inside the penalty area. He failed to hit the target.

Nice performance by Downing last night...and his cross lead to the winning goal. here's a quote from Goal.com on Downing's performance:

"His best performance in an England shirt by quite a distance as he played with skill and pace. Created a brilliant chance for Rodwell at the end of the first-half and was England's most dynamic player after the break."

Hopefully, he continued his form at Liverpool..
