QUOTE(yjeen @ Oct 3 2011, 04:34 PM) Just upgraded to ki3 from kg1 Hurm... I just update and did not get the exclamation mark. But all remain intact. Just still showing 2.3.3. Straight forward. Just backup your contacts, apps, etc. However the USB jig seems not to be working in removing the yellow exclamation mark after rooting with this version, but of course there are other ways to remove it |

Getting bored of Stock Rom time to change.
Need advice from all Sifus, From my understanding: 1. Flash Siyah 1.8 to get root access (Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838) 2. Install TB (Source: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.k...=search_result) to backup all my apps 3. Install Touch x-power+ (Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141201) Is that the proper way of not getting any data loss. thank you in advance. |

Added on October 11, 2011, 1:13 pm you can use CWM after root to make back up of your full system before you load any custom ROM. just in case you encountered any problem during the loading ROM process. [/quote] So there is no need to have TB is it? May i know from where to get CWM. Try to google but fail to get the correct one. Ok. Got it. Ok. New understanding of the next step. 1. Install CWM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693) 2. Flash Siyah 1.8 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838) 3. Install Touch Power+ (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141201) In between CWM and Siyah, do i need to make changes other than backup my apps? Thank you in advance. QUOTE(antt00 @ Oct 11 2011, 04:56 PM) Nice to see your searching first. So, that is nandroid or backup using cwm? Confuse 1. Boot into Recovery (also known as CWM) turn off phone, press volume up + power + home 2. Use volume button to scroll. Scroll to Backup/Restore. Select using Home button 3. Select backup. Wait till it is done. Will be a few minutes. 4. You can go back to previous menus by pressing Power button This will backup your whole rom as it is so you can restore back to current state without missing anything. Its a good way to backup. |
