Okay, in between all this bashing I wanna add some stuff I'm finding out about CM7.

The Good:

1. Haptics in everything - VKB, linkies, menu items. THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE SAMMY. Batt guzzler for sure, but it's customizable anyway.

2. Crazy system customizations - Theme picker, CM settings... customizable like heck weh. Plus the long press volume hack is built in. Hurrah.

3. Everything feels crazy smooth - Especially with Syiah 2.0 kernel. No lag no nothing.

4. 2G/3G switch - very useful, can be setup through tasker too.

5. Screen colour - actually looks nice w/o Mdinie tweaking.

6. Built in CPU management - no UV/OC, but is serviceable.

The Bad:

1. No touch focus in cam - sad really, but third party apps make up for the loss.

2. Limited kernel choices - So, stock CM7 or Siyah 2.0. Lol.

3. Some software incompatibilities - Kaiten just FCed on me. Sigh.

4. No smart dial in dialer - Ugh, this one is arguably not essential in the grand scheme of things, but I NEED it.

5. No REAL orange-black themes - One semi orange, and one neon orange, yes, but not the shade of orange I was looking for.

The Ugly:

1. The fonts - MY EYES MY EYES OH MY GOD! But seriously, even coming from Samsung's "sub-par" text rendering, everything just looks horribly, horribly wrong. Even more so because it's not running my favourite Ubuntu Titling Bold ExSmall.

So, how has the experience been so far? Entertaining, although I'm going back to VR2.4.2 + Ninpo 2.0.5 because however customizable CM7 is, right now it's not really that much "better" then modded stock. Leaner, yes, but some the "stuff" Samsung dumped into the stock ROM is ACTUALLY quite useful (smart dialing, touch to focus... to name a few).

All things considered, anyway.

Maybe next time, CM. Once you sorted out that font hinting thing and touch to focus. Or maybe I should try one of those CM7 hybrids running the Samsung Framework.

imba trolling lo here..

Android = "SGX,SX,Above 18"
iOS = "untuk tontonan umum"

AMOLED = some like it, some don't
IPS TFT = quite imba display also but will lose abit of omph when brightness is set below 50%.

not all iOS users are Android users, but all Android users are iOS users smile.gif
Still both phones are quite easy to recommend

Yeah, I notice my phone getting needlessly hot too. Only surfing and adjusting settings also, even on Siyah. I DID underclock to 1000-200, as I always do too, and ran Smartassv2. It still felt kinda hot.

Battery was charging fine for me, but I was running Siyah with mods (faster charging), maybe that's also why my phone felt kinda hot.

@musicforlife: Browser was OK, not sure if it was HW accelerated though. I ran to Xscope as soon as I could.

@Lineage: I PMed gokhanmoral personally for it, suggest you do the same if you wanna test it for CM7. He needs some help testing the USB connection in CM7 with his kernel right now.

As for the Ubuntu font, I found it in some obscure android flipfont thread. Not sure if I still have the APK though.

Man it takes for every to finish download CM7. Finally downloaded it after 3 hours. Those who having issues download can try my link on my siggy. I uploaded via Multiupload so you guys will have more choices smile.gif

How's your CM7? I feel it is smooth like baby butt. Just that it is hard to 'revive' the phone after it goes deep sleep. After using SetCPU to modify the screen off, works better it seems.

Yes, in stable build 7.1.0, it works like charm.

I believe the download link on CM7 page is SLOW! Took me 3 hours on Unifi. So on my siggy has Multiupload if you want to try. rclxms.gif
