QUOTE(taurusbull @ Oct 19 2011, 11:32 AM) Dear Moderator, Hi taurusbull.I am new in this forum, therefore I don't know the rules. However the following are my comments. 1) Non of us here, in fact the whole of Malaysia, are experts in silver. If we are to take long term advices, we should just Google Ted Butler, Robert Kiyosaki, Mike Maloney, Max Kaiser and even Ron Paul. We should not take long term advices from the members of this forum, because we are in fact really clueless as demonstrated by the recent bets on the price of silver in this forum, eventhough it is a prediction of less than a week. 2) No one predicted the May and September 2011 major price corrections, even old hand like GoldChan and many more experiences dealers globally. Unless you are JP Morgan and the Federal Reserve of America. 3) Silver is basicaly a commodity, therefore the amount of basic knowledge is minimal, in the form of price and delivery. 4) Indepth knowledge of Numismatics and rare bullion coins need years of experience in terms of mintage, year of production and their rarity tags with their respective prices. 5) Everybody can quote a price or prediction of price without taking responsibility for the readers who may unconsciously follow their advice. 6) The best advice in terms of price is based on the dealers who are willing to sell their inventories at their quoted price, and this information is very crucial for local silver investors as it reflects clearly the Malaysian market. The best advice is to follows someone who are willing to "put foot into their mouth" scenario, like dealers willing to sell their inventories at respective prices. 7) Why is Silver Lot Shot so popular with more than 3,000 members now? Because people who are interested in silver wanted to buy and sell, period. 8) This forum is really interesting with many Malaysian giving their respective personal commentaries, and we should continue encourage debate and allows "agree to disagree". 9) If we continue with our lively commentaries, and we include buy/sell like "Silver Lot Shop", this forum will really rock. 10) If USA Constitution can changed >50 phrases (laws) in 235 years and Malaysian Constution can changed >600 phrases (laws) in only 54 years, we should be able to change the rules for the betterment of this forum. I rest my case for the moderator to ponder. Cheer! Taurusbull 1) I am not a moderator. Just a fellow forumer. 2) Forum rules are here, please spend some time to read it. 3) I believe that this forum is already 'rock' enough. My concern is when people start posting advertisements to sell, the thread will become overwhelmed and at that time, the mods will surely interfere. 4) That's why it is better to prevent it from the beginning before it becomes worse. 5) However, we can still discuss about how and where to get cheap silver supply in this thread. Now, spikyz is arranging for our first bulk buying and it gets good response from forumers too. 6) You guys can still promote and sell your items, but pls do it in your signature. Look for chef and bassist's signatures. it shows a good example on how u can advertise ur items for sale. These are strictly my opinions. Feel free to agree or disagree. |

QUOTE(beast_doadore @ Oct 19 2011, 10:06 PM) I've seem mostly people talking about how they buy....anyone would like to share the experience on "how to store" and "how to sell"? storage:-goldchan discussed about safe deposit box by private company in his blog. -some of us just store it in our house because of the collection is still small. -best condition to store ur silver: in a wooden box (woods absorb moistures) or even a dry box -safety and security wise; its not safe and secure to store in house. but, for some ppl there are no choice. sell: -to friends and relative who just started invest/collect silver -online (website, blog, forums, facebook groups, mudah.my etc etc) -to companies which offer buyback policy if u buy from them. |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Oct 20 2011, 10:05 AM) I just wonder why Pamp suisse so expensive? No investor will buy at this point if the price so expensive. I think better buy 1oz coin which is RM115 only right? pamp suisse is like a branded silver. its sealed, assayed and comes with certificate number.when the spot price is around usd40/oz, the pamp bar is priced at rm200 while normal coins are at rm160... even though the spot price dropped, pamp suisse bars maintained their premium. |

QUOTE(taurusbull @ Oct 23 2011, 07:14 PM) From www.dinarkel.com website: yes u are correct. According to Islamic Law... The Islamic Dinar is a specific weight of 22k gold (917.) equivalent to 4.25 grams. The Islamic Dirham is a specific weight of pure silver equivalent to 3.0 grams. Umar Ibn al-Khattab established the known standard relationship between them based on their weights: "7 dinars must be equivalent to 10 dirhams." From : Nubex.com.my Kelantan 10 Dirham=29.75gm silver = RM250 Jutawan, here is your answer. 29.75 gm = RM250 1 ounce = 31.1035gm Therefore buying Dirham 1 oz silver = RM261.37 From SLS, single 1oz bar, the most expensive 1 oz bar is RM140, and the lowest price 1 oz bar is RM130. Meaning buying Dirham silver you must pay 100% premium over International Mint silver. People knows their Mathematics lah. That is the reason, Lowyat Silver Group Member is smart to buy only 1 oz international mint silver bar, and not Dirham. we've discussed this during the meet yesterday. Dirham kelantan's premium is quite expensive and it does not have any numismatic value like lunar dragon and the likes. that's why we buy internationally recognised bars/coins with the lowest premium possible. why pay more, buy at whole sale price. |

QUOTE(smokymcpot @ Oct 23 2011, 10:03 PM) Dirham not really for investment, more for using to buy stuff cause 1 Dirham is rm25. So yeah. They update the price every year I think. So buy on the month of December so next year hopefully can gain some profit. again, why pay using dirham if u can just pay using rm? for dirham to be used as a currency, we cannot compare or back dirham using rm. dirham must be used independently and on its own. current situation is that seller who accepts dirham still advertise their product on rm. if we want to pay using dirham, the seller will calculate how much the product in dirham using rm25 as 'conversion rate'. for me, my goals in silver investment is to gain profit on the capital gains when the spot price increases. so, i buy bullions with the lowest premium possible. for bolded part; if dirham is not really for investment, then why hope for profit next year? its better to buy cheap bars now and hope for more profit next year. my 2oz worth of opinions |

QUOTE(marcusboy @ Oct 24 2011, 10:18 AM) I think it is worth it. Such limited mintage. I saw they selling it on ebay already over USD2000. Prophetjul, mind to share how you bought it? Any links etc? for a nimismatic coin collector like prophetjul, it must be really worth it. but for me, it is way to expensive.i also like to collect some numis coins, but this one is out of my budget liao. |

Just got an email from perth mint regarding my colored and gilded dragons.
It was depatched using aust post, not fedex. Damn, does this means i have to go personally to the customs and pay tax? If fedex, they can pay first and i'll pay them upon delivery... |
