looking back at most of the threads, i think most of us are a bit off track d as in buying silver as a long term investment to curb inflation ...

it looks more likely that all investors have turned into collectors  rclxms.gif  that include me as well  blush.gif

if we're real investors, we should be buying more eagles, maples and philharmonic because of its low premium and not trying to get a dragon at RM400 per oz  doh.gif

but somehow once you're into silver, i think variety is a must d ... i personally like to have all sorts of design, feel excited and happy to see the collection growing smile.gif

All part of investment in Silver, proof coins can go up in value also brows.gif But yes the main purpose is to hedge inflation biggrin.gif I have a mixture of kilo bars and proof coins both for different purpose.

really hope silver is a better option compared to gold. haha...
might plan to venture in both.
paper gold and silver.
gold bars, silver coins and bars.

They say silver is the poor man's gold, I guess that answers your question as to which is a better option brows.gif

Nope, you can always sell it to other people. But you have to find your own buyer.
I'm pretty sure there will be people willing to buy if you're offering a good price.
Selling to goldsmith is an another options, there might be some goldsmith will buy from you.
If you want high liquidity, it's better you buy in small denomination. But the downside is high premium.

Referring to the buy back, please refer to page 1.
chef's post.

So far the company that guarantees buy back is public gold.
I'm not sure with others.
*
Nubex offers buy back as well. But one thing to take note that every company offers a different spread for buy backs. Some will sell you at a higher premium and will buy back at a lower spread and some vice versa.

Sorry guys, you see I have posted my message in chef's post. Hmmm..m, I am making a mess of this:(
Anyway, just to let u guys know that it was 1700 for 3 RCM dragons not 1. Again, is 400 ok for lunar 1 oz?

Cheers
*
5 rcm for 1700 sounds ok, probably slightly on the high side since most sites are selling for 300++

1kg local bars
http://www.publicdinar.com.my

1kg swiss bars - Pamp Suisse (Comes with Cert)
http://1stopgold.com.my/
http://www.nubex.com.my/
http://mysmartgold.gotdns.org

1kg Emirate bars
http://www.nubex.com.my/ (They use to have it, call to check if available)

This are the more common bars available in Malaysia for 1kg bars, anyone to add on? Ease of selling, most company will offer buy back, check with them what is their spread for buy back.

What is your aim in getting silver coins? Investment? Collection? There are numerous dealers in this thread alone that offers great prices. The few that I can name now is GoldChan... sorry it's the only one I can name now without having to browse back haha.

^^ Thanks bro for the advise, i plan for investment, any guideline for a noob like me? ^^
*
Guideline is on the first page, read it up and you will get a better understanding on silver.

If you want safe investment to hedge inflation than bars are the way to go because you don't pay taxes for it and the value is nearer to spot price.

saw 1 post at SLS selling the 1oz dragon for RM388.... damn cheap weih..... haha...dragon price dropping i think
*
Yeap, which is why someone commented that we should not poison the newbies to buy coins, the fluctuation of the coin value are very much dependent on demand and not so much on the spot price.
