Hi. I bought a 1092 sqft 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms condo. I found the master bedroom is not big enough for build in wardrobe. I am thinking of hacking the wall in between master bedroom wall and 2nd bedroom and put in a build in wardrobe about 28 inches width with a new wall ( the new wall will not be in parallel with the 2nd bedroom door but the sliding wall will replace the old wall). The second option is also hacking the same wall but putting up a new wall parallel with the 2nd bedroom door and I can make it as walk in wardrobe with the sliding door in the master bedroom. Third option is , i retain the wall in between the master and 2nd bedroom but i build a new wall in parallel with the 2nd bedroom door and putting in a new door for the entrance to the walk in wardrobe perpendicular to master and 2nd bedroom doors . I need you advice on which option is the best. Third option = creating a totally new room to become a walk in closet. FYI, the 2nd bedroom space and design is odd. I prefer 3rd bedroom which is rectangle. Thanks guys.

P/S : How to upload pic to this forum ? I've tried file attachment but nothing happened. A picture worth more than thousands words tongue.gif

condos and apartments are not advisable to hack the walls. u hv to think alternatives and not hacking the walls. the master bedroom can't be that small to put in a wardrobe. it's always nice to have a build-in wardrobe and/or a sliding wardrobe - but if u dun hv the space, some luxuries have to go.

mine is a L-shape wardrobe mounted on the wall but no sliding door. fits in perfectly with a queen-sized bed and some sitting area around the bed with walking area as well. apartment size 732sqf w/ 2 rooms smile.gif

Yes, condo might have some load bearing wall which can not hack one.

The mentioned wall is safe for hacking, it's not the load supporting wall.

If it is a non load bearing wall, then can hack.
