Hello guys, after working for a few years, finally have enough money for a house. Just signed the contract! Absolutely delighted! Even though it's an old house. Here are some pictures of it. Intend to do some renovation. Will keep this thread updated. I have all the time in the world so i'll probably be doing quite a bit of DIY.

Bedrooms for future kids. Enough for four.

The headache room. The floor's all coming up because of the roof leak.

It'll be great! smile.gif Major reno required - basically, everything has to be gutted except the walls and redone. Roof tiles, electrical wiring, plumbing, flooring, bathrooms....... which is what I'm doing to my house. Almost coming to the end, and wayyyy over my initial budget. laugh.gif

This kind of house can be seen easily in the outskirt of Kuching.

Even landed houses in Kuching are normally bigger than klang valley one.

My childhood house in the downtown Kuching is even bigger than TS house, the land size is about 1/3 of acre.

So sorry for the lack of updates guys. Hit a slight snag with the name transfer because i bought the house with my girlfriend and she is currently in Australia so we had to send the contract over to her and back TWICE and she had to fly all the way from Melbourne to Canberra to High Commission to get it signed but it should be sorted within a couple of weeks.

Just to answer some of your questions first!! This is not in KL! lol this is actually in Johor Bahru. About 10-12 minutes away from the Malaysian Customs and downtown so it is in quite a good location! It is in a guarded and somewhat gated area and i bought it from a Singaporean owner not at an auction. And no, haven't seen any ghosts yet, lol. It's a semi-detach not a bungalow. Reason for the condition of the house is because the owner decided to move back to Singapore to retire and left the house there for a year, unoccupied. biggrin.gif

About the dimensions of the lot, it is around 45' x 185' = 8325 Square Feet. About the price, i will let you guys know when everything's sorted in a couple of weeks!

About the renovation plans, actually nothing much at the moment because i will be renting it out for as i am still working in Australia. But i will definitely give it a good makeover when i return in the future! So here are some slight updates.

user posted image
The roof was leaking badly so i removed the flooring (with nice owner's permission of course) in the Master bedroom as there were mosquitoes breeding all over the floor.

user posted image
Sprayed pesticide to kill the random grass. Dirty house huh? lol previous owner didn't take care of it but then again, i bought it for the value of the land, not the house.

Thanks for all the congratulations! rclxms.gif
