Just got myself a set of Skil 550W drill.

Feel that the drill get very hot whenever I use it for more than 30 minutes. Maybe that's the difference in quality between the high end Bosch with the entry level Skil.

Or is it because I did it the wrong way?

Basic drill have are good for light drilling, if you want continues drilling get a heavy duty drill. Also depending on load if you are drilling concrete slab it will take longer time and high load for normal impact drill to drill therefore it will get warm very fast.

Thanks for the reply. Nice to know that it's normal.

Yup was drilling on masonry. Still a beginner, I took too long time to drill a simple hole to insert wall plug. It was like 20 minutes for a hole.

Anyway just bought another tungsten carbide drill bit and gonna try it again tomorrow. Maybe the one that comes with the set is not so good.
