just my 2cents.
if its only a few holes for wall plugs and using it every now and then, then the normal corded drill would suffice. i think they are called Impact Drill. the best advantage of this type of drill is its lightweight. and also, for screw driving, if you're only using it occasionally, its probably not worth getting a battery drill/driver. the battery degrades after a year or so.
the impact drill, apart from able to use for drilling to brick walls, can also be used for screw driving, drilling thru wood or steel. so, as an all-rounder, its not bad, especially for occasional use.
Rotary hammer drill is good if you're using it very often and if you have chiseling works.
i currently have a Bosch GBH2-26DRE Rotary Hammer & a cheapo Hitachi impact drill as well as a Bosch 14.4V light duty battery drill.
before i started reno works, for my previous DIY works, the Hitachi is the preferred drill as its light weight and easier to handle.
after starting reno, the Bosch is used for speed (small holes) and heavy duty drilling/coring works and for chiseling.
if you tell me i can only have 1 drill and for light duty occasional use, i'll definitely choose the Impact drill.
if you have the dough and would be needing them, then by all means, get all 3. there's nothing like having the right tools for the right job.
good luck.

Hi guys, am in the market for an cordless impact drill/driver...basically something much stronger than my current cordless drill/driver (bosch gsr1440)
After much researching done, i'm getting a little confuse especially between impact drill/driver & impact driver
Bosch Impact drill/driver GSB14,4 V LI rm650+ 35NM torque
Bosch Impact driver GDR1440 RM400+ 130NM torque (!!)
The one i'm currently using is only 30NM torque but cost me around RM350..my question is, if the GDR1440 has so much more torque than GSB14,4 why is it cheaper?
The GSB14,4 is only 5NM torque more than what i'm using, why is it almost double the price?
Another impact driver model GSB14,4 (not to be confused with GSB1440) has 20NM torque more than GSB1440 but price is more than double!
What i want to know, what would be best value when comes to impact drill/driver? I understand the difference in functionality but such major difference in price vs specs..make me confuse what i want to buy...
My application mainly woodworking..number 1 reason i'm looking at getting another cordless driver is its too troublesome keep having to change drill bit and hex driver bit..and i always know my next cordless drill/driver would have to be 'impact' type
So since i'm getting a new one, might as well go for impact ones and not just another drill/driver..but at the same time i'm tight on budget..i dont mind paying but it needs to best value since i'm not gonna be buying another in near future
Any advise & help would be greatly appreciated!!
