Hi guys, Hammer drill? No way... if you want to drill into concrete. There is Makita HR2470 at the store, last time I went there last month.

I have worked before with HILTI Malaysia, a drilling machine specialist for 5 years since 1997. After having to read on several comments, I have noticed there is a slight confusion on the working mechanism of a drilling machine. A drilling machine provides drilling action but when working with hard base material like reinforced concrete, as to facilitate the drilling action, a hammering action is introduced into a machine.
The hammering action on the otherhand, is usually generated by either one of these 2 working principles, "Rotary Cam" or "Pneumatic Air". Rotary cam action hammering drill induces greater friction in the machine, thus causing lesser hammering action in the long run due to wear and tear and shortening drilling machine lifespan. When it comes to pneumatic air hammering action, which has very limited contact in the working mechanism of the machine, thus giving user very powerful hammering action and longer lasting machine.
In another words, the pneumatic air hammering drill will cost you more compared to rotary cams action hammering drill.
FYI, SKIL is a lower end machine compared to Black & Decker. Always choose to purchase a BORCH machine or switch to HILTI if you are a heavy user and of course, if you have more budget allocation.
Happy Drilling!
