menck, normal bosch s4l 10mm shud be less than 15 if not mistaken, if you very good bit can get Hilti bits, but price is slightly more expensive.

yes bro, i think the price is resonable esp for their TeCX which can drill tru rebar steel, there is a hilti branch in tmn molek johor office. compare to bosch x5l i think hilti tecx are more worth.

get a skill rotary drill for less than rm300, that is a better bet for drilling hole. why do you need the cordless for? if for screwing then get impact driver, albeit the price i think its is worth makita corded is around rm220. other wise black and decker cordless screw driver less than rm100-150 will do the job.

QUOTE(suadrif @ Feb 23 2014, 01:31 AM)
H2D, i am thinking to get a cordless drill to do few DIY job, but occasionally i will need it to drill my house wall to hang few things.
some people said that cordless drill is not sufficient to drill wall, is it true?
i dont think my wall is a concrete or beam except area at the corners or pillars.

which one is more economical for my case?
a) buy one cordless drill (Skil or Black&Decker RM180++) for DIY job and one corded drill for wall (Black&Decker for RM140++)
b) buy one cordless drill (BOSCH RM300++) for both job.

but if I go for option B, which model should i get? my max budget is not more than RM400  rclxub.gif

The price difference is around rm150 but both comes with two batteries. price is around rm300 vs rm450. nvr tried skill but i have gdr 10.8. wander if their batteried is interchangeable. since rm300 comes with 2 batteries is quite worth, as the bosch batt cost rm90 each.

QUOTE(H2D @ Feb 24 2014, 11:23 PM)
price of bosch can buy 2x skil 2414 ....  biggrin.gif

bro that bnd is repercussion drill, get proper rotary if you drill alot of holes.

QUOTE(djlake @ Mar 2 2014, 01:59 PM)
I've just moved in to a new place and wanna start with some DIY projects, mainly home furniture and fixtures (which needs drilling to the concrete wall).

I live in a condo, build somewhere in the early 2000s.

Now after reading the thread, it seems like the way to go is a rotary hammer drill with another drill to screw stuffs.

I can still budget for the above but am I better off saving that money and buy myself this drill that is currently on sale ACE Hardware? http://www.acehardware.com.my/Promotions_4_1.htm

Will it still do its job? Am afraid after purchasing nanti, cannot drill to my concrete wall pulak.

If no, then I'll just but the infamous Makita rotary hammer.

Thank you all.

My tools been abuse kao kao before. but now most of the time in the storeroom already unless i am doing wiring works occasionally. not many ppl wiling to spend alot for Diy works tho.

QUOTE(djlake @ Mar 10 2014, 10:47 PM)
The 2810 is RM 630 with additional stuff i.e. chuck, drill bits.

the impact driver was for RM 250.

Total damage is RM 880  sweat.gif

Weikee. Sata also lifetime warranty. Price wise cant really advise on that. You can check at mudah first. Their set price is not expensive. The 150pcs set was around 700 plus imnm. Later I take picture of my set. Cost about 200 last time.

QUOTE(weikee @ Oct 13 2014, 01:39 PM)
Where did you get the sata?  want to compare price. Last time Elora give unlimited warranty. How long is Sata warranty?

i was browsing around in mudah, probably price for sata has increase. Elora brand not so easy to find in jb, mostly now days either unknown china brand and mr.mark is ample. So far tried Sata and Toptul not bad their quality. Getting trolly set, my dream la. want to Diy must have complete tools blush.gif

Nowdays most tools are made in china, even sata is manufacture in china, heck expensive brand like SnapOn also manufacture in China already. With good QC and material i think it will still be topnotch...

QUOTE(weikee @ Oct 13 2014, 11:32 PM)
Trolley set, you opening workshop ah :0

Thanks, I check mudah, price not that cheap. Can match with Elora, not sure how the quality compare to elora. Year end will drop by SG hardware shop to see.

QUOTE(ozak @ Oct 14 2014, 12:56 AM)
Even I look as far as Japan for quality tools, there is no more. Just get the Japan brand. Doesn't matter where it make.

Yes. Their more on handtools n some accesories.
I used their screw bit with my bosch impact driver. Long lasting n anti rust. Didnt strip any screw heads before.

QUOTE(weikee @ Oct 14 2014, 10:25 AM)
Sunflags have limited tools right? mainly on hand use, not on powertool and drills.

long time didnt visit this tread blush.gif

bro, impact drill and driver is different- one is to drill hole, you will need some impact for drilling concrete, where else impact driver is used for screwing and tightening bolts and nuts, therefore there need more torque.

QUOTE(wa1k3r @ Apr 14 2015, 11:55 PM)
Hi guys, am in the market for an cordless impact drill/driver...basically something much stronger than my current cordless drill/driver (bosch gsr1440)

After much researching done, i'm getting a little confuse especially between impact drill/driver & impact driver

Bosch Impact drill/driver GSB14,4 V LI rm650+
35NM torque

Bosch Impact driver GDR1440 RM400+
130NM torque (!!)

The one i'm currently using is only 30NM torque but cost me around RM350..my question is, if the GDR1440 has so much more torque than GSB14,4 why is it cheaper?

The GSB14,4 is only 5NM torque more than what i'm using, why is it almost double the price?

Another impact driver model GSB14,4 (not to be confused with GSB1440) has 20NM torque more than GSB1440 but price is more than double!

What i want to know, what would be best value when comes to impact drill/driver?
I understand the difference in functionality but such major difference in price vs specs..make me confuse what i want to buy...

My application mainly woodworking..number 1 reason i'm looking at getting another cordless driver is its too troublesome keep having to change drill bit and hex driver bit..and i always know my next cordless drill/driver would have to be 'impact' type

So since i'm getting a new one, might as well go for impact ones and not just another drill/driver..but at the same time i'm tight on budget..i dont mind paying but it needs to best value since i'm not gonna be buying another in near future

Any advise & help would be greatly appreciated!!

QUOTE(enduser @ Aug 16 2015, 03:42 PM)
Saw at Tesco

600W

B&D KR554 RE hammer drill
