Main difference is accuracy of the lazer over longer distance.
Cheaper one is ~5mm, more expensive one is ~2mm.
*
This wan probably good enough. biggrin.gif

Cheap.

No self leveling. sad.gif
I have one cheaper single laser version, trying to get a level line just by using the water bubble is a pain.
Thats why I wish to get one with auto leveling next.
*
This cheap wan probably suitable for metal and wood job. It provide straight line and perpendicular to cut and mark line. Instead manually.

Bosch laser line of course have more advantage and function.

Just now go and have a look at CT. The GLL 3X and GLL-15 is so bulky. There have promotion on GLL 3X. But only the unit without adaptor.

I m shortlist to this 2 selection

1) GLL 3X - 3line, 0.5/m accuracy and 15m range. Bulky. RM450
2) GLL 2-50 - 2Line, 0.3/m accuracy and 20m range. Compact and small. RM540

More toward to GLL 2-50 for accuracy and compact. But GLL 3X have an advantage extra 1 line. rclxub.gif

I was thinking of making a vacuum cart that can slow down the high pitch household vacuum sound.
Can double up as a moving support top when cutting long wood.
I wonder how effective it will be  confused.gif

Low rumbling noise still better than high pitch sound.

May get overheat the vacuum motor.

Anyway, you can try.

Additional, you can place the noise absorption matt around the case wall.

Use stand instead caster. Vibration from the motor can cause noise.

Put a thermal cut off for the motor. For overheat protection.

where to buy this thermal cut off for motor? and how to install
*
It is call overload relay. Normally put at the below magnetic contactor that connected to the motor.

Once the motor overload to the setting, the overload load relay will cut off the connection and kick off the magnetic contactor. Once cool down, the overload relay will auto connect back.

The way connection is called DOL (direct on line) motor starter. It is a common way of motor protection wiring.

You can buy the whole thing from any electrical shop. (for contractor) If they don't understand DOL, use another name - Magnetic starter for aircon. Makesure inside have the overload relay.

A cheap DOL cost around RM38.

Im planing to use it to cut tiles and cement.

Wanted to get the steel cutting wheel as well.

I did ask bout bosch 85mm cutting blade but the fello say he no carry those  bangwall.gif

So now im stick with just a wood blade.
*
Test the blade last weekend.

The blade done a good job. Cutting through the cement and brick effortless. But not the machine. The 12V circular saw don't have enough power to cut fast. The battery doesn't last long too. Small job like what I do is ok. But big job, you have to consider others.

The line cutting is straight and nice. Make the chipping of the trunk easily with the HR2470 Makita.

How you cut the cement hole with nice round shape?
*
Drill some hole around the round line.

Hack the space between the hole. Use small flat chisel. Like 15-20mm width.

Than chip the remaining toward the line. Sometime difficult to control some small portion that near to the line.. Than finish off with chisel it manually.

Get a diamond bored faster and easily. biggrin.gif

I do agree that the batt doesnt last long, it wasnt design to last in the first place.
Am planing to use it on minor job.

Wouldnt it crack when you plaster it back ? I was told to just hack with jagged line so that when you plaster back it wont have crack line.
*
Plaster depend kungfu.

I m bad at plaster.

why so looks so weird one your wiring ? why you planning to put/attached there ?
doesn't look like additional face place and what not..

care to share the finish job ?

time for you to mod the saw with a 12v dc converter attached to the power socket. and buy a second hand spoilt batt
. for continues cutting ? smile.gif
*
Hehehe.. That pic not final also. Here the final bunch of cable. rclxub.gif

user posted image

The wiring consist of many configuration.
1) normal 240v wire
2) main switch wire
3) 24vdc from battery (solar)
4) 16mm earth wire to outside
5) 4signal wire future controlling

It is for new tv cabinet. Which some will run on 24v. Like LED light and some player.

Not yet finish la. Got to wait for the installer after I finish patch everything.

And stuck at some special wall socket , surge protector that difficult to find here.

Can mod. But I worried the motor kaput in no time. This small tools can't stand the overload heat. Continue run for long definitely spoil it.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding live wire detection. Does the tool work with our concrete/brick walls in Malaysia?
I'm looking at Bosch GMS100M and GMS120. Or if you guys have any other suggestions, that'll be great.

p/s: I've bought a non-contact pen-like AC detector. And... it only detects AC when I put it near switches/plugs and for in-the-wall wires, only ceiling fan wires (a friend of mine said it is because the fan uses more wires/power).

Thanks in advance. notworthy.gif
*
Try to put on something to run on that life wire and detect again.

See the signal stronger or not.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm trying to trace wall lights wire (switched on when I tried to trace).
But I have done what you told me to. I plugged a phone charger and was connected to the phone too. But still, no signal. This was with an RM12 tool btw. biggrin.gif
*
Probably run too low the current. Something more heavy load.

Anyway, the bosch detector is good also. It use another way to detect. It is actually a metal detector. Detect ferrous and non ferrous metal.

It will detect the copper wire with a limit distance.

I see. So, you have the Bosch detector? Which model did you get?
And, it can detect copper within our common brick walls (assuming you're living in Malaysia)?
*
Sorry I don't have. biggrin.gif

I only use eye and imagination to detect. Not difficult. Once open the wall socket or cover that wire come out, I know where the wire direction from.

I read the bosch model the way it detect.

Yes, it able to detect our brick wall wire inside. It able to detect the copper wire max depth of 80mm. Depth of live - wire 50mm. Distance detect subject to wall material.

1 unit for hse ground floor + garage use, 1 unit for upper rooms usage only, 1 unit inside my toolbox for working site use... biggrin.gif. Will consider getting another unit if there's is a good deal...

this little vacuum is so so handy to use....especially vacuuming the room, car interior....and very strong suction power for it's size too  biggrin.gif
*
I have never believe such small unit in strong suction.

Cause I brought a B&D car vacuum before. Something similar size. But the suction is sucks.

Even my Hitachi 2.3kw vacuum will give up if deal with find grain from concrete.
