You mean child of eden? I dunno, it's like comparing apples and oranges. CoE is more of a hardcore shooter compared to the Gunstringer.

I'm playing it currently and really enjoying it while i chase the achievements, only need the strings of steel achievement (hardcore, one session, without dying) and 2 random ones before i complete it. My copy of gears of war 3 is still shrink wrapped because of this game.

It's one of the more enjoyable games I've played in recent months and highly recommended at the USD35 retail price. the free fruit ninja kinect is the icing on the cake.

The graphics awesomeness of this game is powered by the beard engine.

From a serious kotaku article:

"The idea came about last minute because we had a previous Beard Intro (that you can unlock in Ms Splosion Man) that wasn't going to work out. CCO Josh Bear worked tirelessly for two minutes to come up with a new intro and hired a famous Hollywood director to create the epic piece, and creative Dizney artists crafted the fabulous art works scattered over Frank's desk. We also brought in Industrial Lights and Majiks to actually create an animatronic beard onto Frank's naked face that actually shoots lightning bolts. The whole video cost about 2.5 million to make and is worth every penny."

Also, if you must, the previous splash, which you can also unlock in the gunstringer.

hopefully they will add it in XBLA as plan to be. What an upset that MS decide to release as a retail at $40

Are you still banging the same drum? You should just get over the fact that they decided that the quality was good enough for a budget retail release. I'm actually also glad that they released it on retail as it allowed twisted pixel additional incentive to polish the game.

Having paid for it, it's really good value for money. pbbseller is selling it for RM105...

yup still. the retail copy is more to a bundle to justify the pricing. gunslinger 1200msp + dlc 1200 msp + fruit ninja 800 msp. ~ $38 +2 for hard copy 'maybe'

gunstringer had the funds and they complete it before the retail release and the intial release was XBLA

what about the ppl who only want gunstringer?

i thought the story was it was meant for XBLA, but then MS told them to add more content to justify a retail release so they finally can have a quality purple box game which is not Dance Central 2.

for those that just want gunstringer, just go sell the code for Fruit Ninja lor. Worth at least RM30.

Yes, there was a request by MS to go from xbla to retail. However, the end product isn't an arcade game that's packaged into a purple box, it's a retail game that's been packaged into a purple box. You would feel bad for twisted pixel if you actually bought the game as it is now for 1200MSP.

http://www.xblafans.com/the-gunstringer-go...-why-16204.html explains some reasons behind their decision to go retail.

They added loads of content into the final release that it more than justifies the price paid for the game. Buy it, play it and then if you still feel cheated by all means, rant ahead.
