 Any one having same issue with PeugeXt 207, new car, new problem

Any one having same issue with PeugeXt 207


List of Problems
Steering column faulty: Within a month's time since purchased, strange sounds can be heard and upon

Faulty Brakes : Sharp shrieking sound can be heard while breaking. Was advised by PeugeXt technician that this is a manufacturing defect. According to the technician, brake is not under warranty but as for my case is due to manufacturing defect where they order a new one for me,it is still uncertainty that this new brake can stand for how long.

Engine Noise: Multiple noise can be heard and as per the PeugeXt technician it is due to the faulty absorber and the parts inside the car dashboard is loose.The technician manage to fix the sound but it sound returned after the next day. Visited the workshop again. Although the car is under warranty, I feel like i am driving an old vehicle.

Loose Window Frame : Loud Air stream can be heard inside the car due to loose window frame. I never aspect this from a continental car.

I thought those problem only happen to Local Car especially Proton..

actually, if proton is this problematic, they tabao dy, they one month selling more than 5000 cars.

peugeot is like....100. so....its just mathematics.

Important is how manufacturer react on problem happened.

You can check, I complain my honda on the same thing for 2 years straight. The service center people also know me already because of this. Those who worked in QC line before know....sometime it is not easy to catch a bug. You think you have solved, it but it comes back...

My point: I am not saying local cars are good, but definitely not bad as well. Please give credit where it is due... I mean you might get a lemon car from Proton. But I am damn sure alot of manufacturer have sold lemon cars to people as well.

ya, so far my best experience is with perodua.

they taken complain seriously and will fire worker and give warning letter after investigation. there is no surprise why they are number 1 for last few years.

i shot an email, and received call from service center in 10 mins, and received call from HQ in less than 1 hour, now that is customer service.

207cc used to be sold here... now no more. but it is rare for 207 sedan to have so many issues as ts mentioned. very, very rare. most of my friends cars have none of the problems you or your friend has. anyway, the car now has 5 years free service and 5 years, unlimited mileage warranty.

just that your case sounds super suspicious. never heard of 207 giving problems before. mine is 15k km already. somehow, can't believe what you say lor. sorry, but since mine is problem free, i find your story kinda unbelievable.

anyway, how to advise your case? no details at all... no car number... no real customer name... no contact number... no proof. here's a bit of advise. they have a way u can contact them on their fb page. use that avenue. if u simply post it on their wall and start getting aggressive, it will just get deleted. another tip. talk nicely and they will listen. but it is your choice.

and is it your friend's car or yours? car business is very competitive and there have been many fake 'owners' simply saying things to discredit another brand.

Btw, isn't NAZA the distributor for Peugeot?? NAZA service is legendary in suckiness.

Contact them at their Facebook page, issue report block by them !

So posted at this forum, objective is not FEEDBACK about their quality issue.

Next should be bring this to paper.

Like this, should make report to consumer tribunal. Also, get your copy of the letter to them hand delivered, with a signed acknowledgement copy (get the people there to sign and stamp)...then cannot say "didn't receive letter" excuse. Looks like they hell bent wanna ignore ur friend.

hi joo,

u can speak to their new service manager at glenmarie if u still want to try to contact them. his name is mr leong. anyway, i think maybe the way the note was posted on their fb could be too abrasive. understand also some owners can get pissed if they have unresolved issues but they only ban if the person 1) posts abrasive language 2) spams their fb page 3) screws up the company but does not provide details. if your friend did not sound like that, i think they would not have banned him... or her.

anyway, hope u get your friend's case gets settled soon.

they should not block you from facebook unless you are posting something that is harsh and unreasonable and untrue. You should complain to peugeot HQ on this.

Also, you cannot complain to consumer tribunal because it is only for cases where the value is less than 30k.

Yeah....i complained Proton their GPS is a rip off at their FB....they politely replied the matter will be brought to the attention of their management and reply me....whether reply or not is one issue, at least they didn't rub off my remarks...smile.gif

I drive Savvy 4 years+ no issue...oh wait....it has France DNA also.... tongue.gif  But frankly, i dun like French....deal with them last time on work....quiet arrogant people.

by the way, some owners have improved the 207's handling very simply and at very low cost. not sure if it can work with the sv or not.

what do u mean 'some owners have improved the 207's handling'? they do some modification? should be 207 and 207sv is the same. the different is the body kit.

hmmm, for the squeak, try using silicon spray. any service centre will have it. as for the handling, use 206 front springs and lower the torsion beams accordingly. the difference is fantastic! looks good too!

PeugeXt 207 at service center "servicing" 2days already.

No repalcement car provide.

List of Problems
Steering column faulty: Within a month's time since purchased, strange sounds can be heard and upon

Faulty Brakes : Sharp shrieking sound can be heard while breaking. Was advised by PeugeXt technician that this is a manufacturing defect. According to the technician, brake is not under warranty but as for my case is due to manufacturing defect where they order a new one for me,it is still uncertainty that this new brake can stand for how long.

Engine Noise: Multiple noise can be heard and as per the PeugeXt technician it is due to the faulty absorber and the parts inside the car dashboard is loose.The technician manage to fix the sound but it sound returned after the next day. Visited the workshop again. Although the car is under warranty, I feel like i am driving an old vehicle.

Loose Window Frame : Loud Air stream can be heard inside the car due to loose  window frame. I never aspect this from a continental car.

heya

i have the same issues as well with my 207. do u have that undercarriage noise as well? it's like some squealing sound from the wheel while driving. can be heard more clearly when driving slow speed especially in basement carpark.

steering column thing also mine have. they say they replaced it but sound still return after that.

brake sound also they say fix but later sound returning

doors also got sqeaky sound when open and close



can outside mechanice fix our problems?

Thats true but it becomes a serious issue when problems happen so often and despite the car being so new. Your problems are not small. Faulty shock absorbers and loose dashboard are not small problems.

If ure getting these problems this early on, how do you expect this car to last 5-7 years? rclxub.gif

But then again, i wasnt impressed with the 207 anyway. Too ugly and interior similar to Proton.

Wah so sucky car!I thought conti car is better than local.Forgive me, I use to think conti car after sales service is much better.After all,they are the same.Might as well get a local car instead.
