The reviews on the Beta is pretty much mixed - - DICE delivering the multiplayer action BUT with plenty of issues.

Most common :
- Glitches ; players falling through the floor, players clipping through the wall, and apparently a funny "running slanted" and floating bodies
- Destruction ; eh? I am surprised. Apparently the destruction is nowhere close to BFBC2.
- Lag issues aplenty
- Only 1 map to try out
- Origin re-downloading the download / issues with game folders missing

Good side :
- Performance ; very scalable and apparently even a GTX 280 can run this smoothly at Medium at 1920x1080
- Sound effects ; impressively worked
- Visuals ; Medium settings looking great

At this rate, I think a patch on the day of release is to going to occur. I know it is an impressive game just from window gazing. Can't wait to try out the Beta.

Wow? This is it? This is what it has been all about? Been waiting patiently for beta and what a letdown. I am utterly surprised by the sheer number of glitches and the uber boring map. Clipping issues. Stuck while running. Such basic gameplay and there are issues. Sure it is a Beta and not the final version, but what an impression this has given me. With just a few weeks to release, oh dear. The devs say have sorted out all issues in the final product. How to believe... And what's with the whole launching from a web browser thingy? sweat.gif At this point, almost dead certain on console version. Maybe won't even get this game after all. Might just wait for "Nov 8 game". This is not a rant, this is just a day's worth of impression. And it is not looking good. Lol, even Crysis 2's multiplayer demo was way better and had a lasting impression. And what's with (maybe it's just me) inaccurate aiming... feels like shooting with a giant brick on top of the gun. I blame it lag/high ping.

I sincerely hope for DICE's sake, the final product is super polished and garners impressive reviews that completely overshadow the Beta nod.gif . On a second thought, they should not have released the Beta.

Tried the PC Beta yesterday, horrible. A lot of glitches and bugs. I heard there is a patch or something. Keep getting disconnected. Tried the PS3 version and... a whole different story. Don't want to pounce on platform differentiation but it was way, way smoother. The download was 1.1Gb before install, 4Gb after, and getting into the Quick Match servers was instant. Did not experience slowdowns, dc or clipping issues. However, after a kill, the camera would pan around the ongoing battle and the camera would go through the bodies and environment. Had a blast, and while the PC's visual is easily a mile better than the PS3, gameplay wise, I felt I had a great, great time... however, I don't think I will be getting the retail version. Will wait for reviews first. The mp beta felt uber ordinary.

*I am sorely disappointed with the lack of destruction. When grenades blast, walls would chip off but that's it.

Gave the PC version another go. Last chance. It failed.

I think partly to blame is absolutely bug-tastic this Beta is. What on earth were they thinking releasing a Beta that will undoubtedly leave an impression to those wanting/pre-ordered the retail version, I have no idea.

I hate it the most when randomly DC and the visuals sometimes become glitchy. The camera pans around after you're killed and goes into the environment. A real shame. Tried the PS3 version too, and while that is more playable, it still pretty much is broken.

Scouring the web, plenty of folks cancelling pre-oder. Have to ask myself whether they're lying or not laugh.gif Maybe they just want DICE to make the retail version bug-free.

Oh wait... that's not quite possible.

BTW, the "Nov 8" title seem to be the ultimate hope.

The final version of "Battlefield 3" could either shine above the rest or fall completely flat.
