note that you can't use the 'shorting' technique to test whether the PSU is working or not... albeit the fan will still run when you short it...

The reason is, that there is no 'load' to the system, thus even the PSU fan is running, there still chances for it not to work...

Anyway, if you want to test some fan, led etc.. the shorting technique is the best since it does not need you to connect to mobo first...

my suggestion...

use sticker to stick to each of the wire...

label 1 to 12 for the top
and A to L for the bottom pin...

 

Change to:
