switch off the power supply before sleeving, sure no kaboom. if u are afraid, do 1 by 1 so that u wont mistake the connector place.

Hi sifu-sifu, I am going to do myself a notebook cooler. But I need to know how big does the heatshrink I need for tidying those cables after connecting them. BTW, can I use lighter to shrink them?

hi there i want to do a single sleeve on each wire.as you can see at pics below there is a capacitor inside the heatshrink.how to deal with the capacitor?

thank you, you all for reading this thread after all these years. i miss coming back here.

@ mizi, u can strip out the heatshrink. the bulging thing is either a ferrite magnet or a capacitor to regulate voltage. if it is a magnet, it'll be a "ring" magnet then you are lucky. if capacitor, u may have to unsolder & resolder it after sleeving. u can also reposition it away smile.gif

Just curious guys.

Is it possible to sleeve cables using papers ? Like those so call "Sugar paper" which is black in color and nice hardness, put cables inside roll around it and tape it ?
