edited: owh, the Power cable... some brand can remove the header, n some can't. lyk wat uglyvamp said, nothing much can be done about dat... unless u cut the molex, n solder em back again... wheee~ u can read em here. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=205073 This post has been edited by r4ydc24: May 26 2006, 12:21 PM |

lol.. if u wanna make ur sleeving wire look nice, better u remove ur molex first then start do the sleeving thingy.. there is no such way u can sleev nicely w/o remove its molex.. unless u sleeve it wif widest sleev cable but for sure looks so ugly..

datz wat most ppl will think. To those Vantec Sleeving kit owners, the blue heatshrink in the pic, is the biggest size u can get in that kit... that heatshrink is meant for the 20-24 pin cable... nyehehehhe..
btw, does SATA power connector considered as molex? coz if it is, then yeah, it is dat "sleeving without moving out the molex" thingy by me. |

note to those buying UV sleeve ...
try to get sleeves come in a "roll" type .. dont get those that are cable tie up .. cos when u release up, the sleeve is like zig zagged ... ( like Z ) not nice when sleeved up.. This post has been edited by uglyvamp: Jun 15 2006, 02:29 AM |

Aiyoyo. Y is ure IDE cable looping round the CPU n near the VR? U shud put it down below the HDD cage there. As for the sleeving, y dont u try using the white wire tubes that is sold at electrical shops instead of gas tubes? Will look a lot nicer.
Look at the pix below. C that white tube thats holding all my wires? That's the wire tube. They haf it in many different sizes. ![]() |

Besides the gas & white wire tubes, there are quite a no of other tubings as well which may be used for sleeving. Check out those outlets which specialize in tubings

QUOTE(ahbenggay @ Jun 18 2006, 11:04 AM) need some advise here...i'm going to buy a new pc here.....but keen to try to learn how to sleeve.....but should i try on a lousy PSU here or my new PSU. Scared lee.. Sleeving is not hard men ...and actually it is pretty easy ....aaahh...bombman if u live around prai area good ler..i can ask for ur help the best practice is read a lot of sleeving guide in the internet first then develop ur own way to do it .... anyway just recommedation from me get few different size of flat screw driver (best is smallest u can get ) to remove the wires from the molex u can use the screw driver or other method to push the two pins within the molex that holding it. before u remove best practice is to label it so that wont get confuse ,, after that u are ready to sleeve it ...choose any color measure the distance and cut it out but 1 inch shorter at both side for you to have room for heatshrink to fit in once u done.... to have the sleeve goes through the wires u could use different way but the best i tried is hold the area that u have slot it ...then push the other end so that i creates a big wide gap and that gap is for the sleeve to go through the wires head without scrathing it much ....so once u get the desired gap size to fit through the wires head then let go off the end that u slot in earlier.... finished it just cut 1.5 inch long sleeve or shorter if u prefer ...then place it overlap portion of the sleeve and the wires ...then grab a candle or hair dryer to blow it until it shrink accordingly... make sure u use heatshrink that has just nice size .... do beware heatshrink u get from those modding company such as Vantec and those u get from the local electronic hardware shop has different degree of heat acceptance ... basically modding heatshrink is softer and the heat level stand is lower .... while those hardware shrink can stand up higher degree of heat so hair dryer does not work well here..... basically that's all then just push back the pin of the wires and slot it back to molex connector accordingy ....
