i was tuning the system earlier,it sounds much more better now just need some pro help me tune better.I like the way active lets me tune,i doubt will go back to passive and i notice when i was tuning the amp the installer did a mistake by switching on both hpf and lpf for mids so i switched off the hpf.Am i correct?,anyway it sounds better now.

also i set my hpf to 100-125hz and lpf sub 63-80hz

loudness:mid

L:1 M:0 H:-2

Low:40hz,2w
Mid:500hz,2w
High:10k,2w

may i know whether this settings are ok?i know it depends on my ears perhaps something might be wrong and could be better

thanks

its supposed to be both switched on... then you have a band pass...

your setting... mid lpf anf high hpf the gap is huge... try 3.2k for both and play around from there...

the mid hpf... set to 60Hz, play around with the slope and freq points also...

and also... mind your gain settings... messed up the gains, you wont get your sound right as well... smile.gif

did it as you said and it sounds better changed all except the band pass when i switch on both my mids play as if there is only highs but when i turn up the frequency almost max than i can hear but that is more like a bypass.

is your HU capable of going full active? or you are tuning based on where?

your frequency points should be like this...

low: lpf 40Hz

mid: hpf 60Hz, lpf, 3.2kHz

high: hpf 3.2kHz

add slope to all the points above...

bro i'm tuning according to the hu and the slope is the the 1N,2N,1W and 2W rite

on my HU i set

low 40hz

mid 1k earlier 500

high 3k earlier 10k

i can't set exact values as u mentioned unless i change it on the amp side which has variable tuning

from what it looks like i think my HU isn't capable of fully active or am i missing something here

thanks

i think what you are doing now is the parametric EQ... which is totally a different thing from active tunings...

i think what you should do is change things from your amp xover...

what are the options available? what kind of range is available? or better still any online manuals or pictures of the knobs.. it helps to understand the whole thing that way...

sorry my bad for not knowing from the start... smile.gif

What you dun like and what you are looking for? Tonal Quality? Accuracy? Staging? Width? Depth? Separations? ETC?

If u learn to tune urself, you wont need others to help u tune in the future.

the mids is kinda lacking the punch like it's not tight and not deep as well, the tweeter seems ok but at times it's too sharp, the thing i'm not satisfied is the mids.

bro from what i notice both the channel allows same level of tuning depends we switch on the high pass section or low pass section and the variable tuning starts from 45hz to a few k's...

ok...

1. on the tweeter channels: high pass on. set to 3kHz high pass
2. on the mids channels: high pass and low pass on. 60Hz high pass and 3kHz low pass
3. on the sub channel: low pass on. 60Hz low pass

try this... again check your gains.
to be safe.. try the tweets channels with a mid to verify that only trebles are passed through that channels... after you have confirm this, hook the tweeters back...

gain level should be matched... no driver over overpowering the other... and it should be as low as possible... your HU volume should be as high as possible to get the optimum performance...

off your loudness function... it only do bad than good to your sound...

and lastly... check your component set's spec sheet for the frequency range especially for the tweets... lets say it says 3kHz to 25Khz... your tweeter channels should NOT BE LOWER than 3kHz high pass...

hope this helps...
cheers.gif

i'm done with the settings bro,i'm very happy....the bandpass settings for woofer works as well.

the only problem i have now is the settings from the 2 channel amp which i'm not able to reach underneath the seat, since the volume frm HU is higher now the sub is too loud and if i control from the sub out from HU still doesn't sound nice i think i need to reduce the gain on the amplifier.

bro now the settings on the 4ch amplifier part is done how about the settings of low,mid and high parametric equalizer from the HU are there any specific settings which i've to input.

currently my settings:

EQ 1:
L:3 M:3 H:1

High Pass Filter:100hz

Low Pass Filter(sub-out):63hz

EQ 2:
L: 40hz,2W

M:1k,2W

H:12k,2W

after the bandpass settings the mids sounds better...thanks alot bro smile.gif
