It’s okay to use manual focus

But the question is what body u pair it with

If u use it with a dslr , using ur viewfinder to rack focus may be hard . Coz most dslr viewfinder are not accurate when ur aperture is wide , he did mention here at 2:20

Then u need to use the live view but sometimes may be hard to use under harsh sunlight.

If u use it with mirrorless, then it’s generally fine
But some with good focus peaking will make the process of shooting much more enjoyable - the one I have used to shoot before is a7s2 and a7II, the s2 peaking is so much more accurate, making u much more comfortable when u manual focus

Whatever it is, go head and buy one. Maybe not an expensive one TO begin with . See whether u like it personally or not cheers

In Lightroom , play with the Black point in the graph at the lower end of the spectrum
