To all Maybankard holders out there, Maybank just adopted a new policy regarding online transaction today. Starting today, you will need to call Maybank before making any online transaction using your AMEX so that they can open the line for you or else, your card will not go through. Just happened to me. Not too sure about Maybankard VISA/MC though.

For the past week, I have 2 unauthorised transactions charged to my AMEX card. One RM 827 from AirAsia that was posted when I checked M2U online transaction. The other one was alerted by the CS that one RM 31,000 online transaction from Netherlands was made. The second one was not posted. Immediately my card was suspended and was asked to collect the replacement card 2 days later. I was shocked as 31K is a very big amount, almost max out my CL. Been using credit cards for so many years and have yet to face such fraudulent transaction.

I was asked to submit my dispute form for the first transaction only after I received the statement and that would only be at the end of this month. My question is would this be too late?

It is so easy because there is no MSOS protection or any similar kind. Someone could just take the name, card no, exp date and the CIV whn you pay for something and there you go, he/she could just shop with it.

Feeling so vulnerable, I might as well cut down my CL since I don't need such an amount most of the time. If and when when I need a bigger limit would the CS entertain such request on an ad-hoc basis?
